AN IDEAL LIVE ABOARD OPPORTUNITY IN BRIGHTON MARINA, 7 MONTHS LEFT ON A PAID UP & FULLY TRANSFERABLE MOORING WHICH IS 5K ANNUALLY NICELY SITUATED ON A LOVELY LOCATED INNER MARINA MOORING WITH ALL FACILITIES NEARBY, MAINS POWER, WATER, PARKING, SHOWER & WASHING FACILITIES ETC... Ship to Shore 240 volt power & pumped hot & cold water supply onboard. The electrics have all been modernised for this purpose and are all in good working order. The ship to shore system also charges the battery's for all of the 12 volt systems onboard to so you do have the pleasure of both! ABOUT THE BOAT...She's a 38' Moreland 1963 Classic Motor Boat "Mary Gay" Built by R & W Clark (appointment to HRH QE ll ) of East Cowes in the Isle of Wight. This was my fathers boat which he has owned since 1980, originally for leisure and then he has used it as a live aboard in Brighton marina for the past 25 years, although he has managed to keep the exterior maintained to a reasonable standard the interior will require some tlc as well as a good clean.
2 brand new battery's have just been fitted and she's in good mechanical order powered by 2 Venerable GM Detroit diesels which are legendary in there own right, (these have been very well maintained and are running beautifully.)The boat overall has retained pretty much all of its original features as well as having loads of interesting history, this is a sister boat to the legendary "ja conja" Cowes/Torquay race.. with the extra aft cabin incorporated in its original build by R & W Clark of Cowes who need no introduction and if your looking for a classic craft of this type with pedigree then this is as good as it gets. However after that build up! She of course will need some work to bring her back to her former glory. The forward deck had unfortunately leaked in the past which has cause some damage to the forward cabin, a good carpenter could easily rectify or modernise this, but the rest of her apart from the dirt & dust seems in pretty good order for her age. There is also a brand new cover on the front section of the boat.
She was last out of the water 5 years ago for a repaint and has not been out to sea for many years as my father just lived aboard, if you can look past the required repairs & a good clean up in the right hands this really could be made into a lovely comfortable live aboard or an enviable classic boat to be restored to her former glory which would no doubt fetch a very good price as a classic Solent or Thames cruiser if you wanted to go that way? She's currently moored in Brighton Marina in a paid up transferable mooring up until March 2019!!! Which costs approx 5k a year, my father has not had the boat surveyed for many years and it is therefore not currently fully insured for sea use or trials, so I can't take you out in her but I can start her engines & your welcome to inspect her as I recommend you do. I'm looking for a quick sale and would consider any reasonable cash offer...PLEASE VIEW BOTH THE VIDEOS ON UTUBE, JUST COPY & PASTE THESE BELOWhttps://youtu.be/OFQNFPPo9UQhttps://youtu.be/TqLdBG0TFfo SALE INSTRUCTIONS...
