I'm selling what has been my home for the past year due to upgrading to a bigger boat with my partner. This is not a project. Everything works and it is fully converted to an all year liveaboard. Everything fitted in the last 18 months. Sale includes: 23 foot Norman fibreglass hull, very sturdy and good condition.
All structural wooden beams and deck inside the hull replaced with new marine ply a just over a year ago. Great 2007 tohatsu engine, starts every time. I've laready been to hertford and back to london using this, and also is locked in with power lock and wooden sheathing making it very hard to steal. Fully insulated with poly/foam and then wall carpet so there is no condensation. Also yoga mats cut to the shape of windows for extra insulation at night in the winter.
Heated with multifuel burning stove - cabin was really toasty even in the winter. Custom made sink and beer barrel tap connected to new 200l water tank (lasts two weeks). Two gas hobs for cooking, inserted in cabinet made from an antique record player. Comes with 2x gas containers. Electrics consist in 12v and usb chargers, connected to leisure battery charged by 150 watt solar panel.
This gets me enough power for 9 months of the year (working from home using laptop, etc.) and then i run my engine to change a bit on some winter days (as is normal for boats). Thetford cassette toilet with two cassettes and all toilet chemicals. Double bed with custom built very comfortable mattress (just over a year old) at the front of the boat. Led lights installed in cabin roof and navigation light on front. Also stereo and speakers for driving.
Lots of storage, plus wheelhouse converted to summer living/eating area with seating, fold up table, and then toilet cubicle in corner. All custom built or adapted furniture (desk, bed, table, etc.) comes with the boat. Note: there is no shower cubicle or hot water. I use showers at work, swimming pool, my partner's house, etc. And I also wash using the sink and flannel as well as the shower head attached to the tap (also can boil water on the stove).
I initially meant to put in a shower when I first moved in but found I adapted very quickly and it was fine without. This is a really great boat for London, you can easily turn around anywhere in the canal (unlike larger boats) and its always easy to find a mooring spot. Also its a very sturdy fibreglass hull, which means you never have to worry about rust or the cost of blacking it. Great for cruising in the summer and cosy and warm cabin the winter. The only reason I'm selling is that I've taken on a bigger project boat to live in with my partner.
Loads of extras come with boat (mooring pins, hose, security alarm, petrol cans, fenders, etc). Buyer can even have pots and pans, etc. If they want so they can move straight on and enjoy living on this as much I have. A bit messy in the pictures but I live and work here full time and just took pictures as it is! Can send more pictures (bed etc.) for anyone who wants.
I will be repainting various bits, cleaning, doing last bits of diy, etc. Over the next days. Starting at 7k but open to serious offers (no silly offers, and yes I do know you can get old 23 Normans in the north of england for 3-5k but then you have to get them taken to london and also they are not converted to liveaboards, don't have new working engines, etc.).
