POCKET SAILER CABIN CRUISER - LYSANDER * IDEAL WINTER / SPRING PROJECT* FREE MOORING / STORAGE INCLUDEDHi, and thanks for looking at my ad for this project sailboat with small cabin / weekender; I believe it is a Lysander 17 as designed by Percy Blandford, twin bilge keels and is 17ft in length. It would be an ideal fun project and when launched the boat would be ideal for estuary sailing and also for cruising on the River Thames and further afield including the Norfolk Broads. With its small cabin, it can easily accommodate overnighting or for just messing about on the water. Please note that the pictures have just been taken, in the last 2 weeks, so they are an accurate portrayal of the boat as it is. Unfortunately, the last owner had to give up the project due to personal circumstances and it is now ready for someone to complete her.As you can see from the pictures, it is a project but it's also something that could be done by a competent DIY'er and won't need specialist knowledge. The boat is set up for use with sails or with an outboard engine and any small outboard of around 4hp would be cheap to source, easy to fit, economical and would perfectly suit the boat.
The hull is a wooden hull so will need checking out but appears to be mostly solid so any repairs will be small and well within an amatuer's capability. The rest of it is just cosmetic and you have the chance to finish her however suits you. There is a good website detailing the history of Lysanders along with the original build plans. The good news is that the mooring and / or storage within the boatyard is included in the sale price of £200 and includes ONE MONTH FREE of charge. The storage cost per calender month for this boat is normally £100, so this is all you'd pay after the first FREE month.
It means you can buy with confidence knowing that you aren't going to be stuck with additional costs. Obviously if you wanted to take the boat away you would be able to do that too. There are plenty of people here who can help with advice and everyone is welcome.COME ALONG AND HAVE A LOOK AROUND AND MAKE AN OFFER. The trailer is NOT included in the sale, however, it is available to purchase separately if you're interested. It is a braked trailer and suits the boat perfectly.
The storage / mooring is in an ideal location in Egham / Old Windsor on the River Thames; the town centre is only a short walk away and has a full range of banks, shops, launderette, pubs and restaurants. It also boasts a mainline station running into London Waterloo including stops at Clapham Junction. The boatyard is small and friendly and everyone is welcome and the boat can be viewed there. Her approximate overall dimensions are as follows:- LENGTH OVERALL: 17 ft WIDTH OVERALL: < 6 ft 10 inches (so narrowbeam) You are welcome to come and see the boat and look her over, so please feel free to give me, Richard, a call (my full contact details are in the Business seller's contact details below), and ask any questions or to arrange a viewing. Alternatively, you can just turn up and look around as the boat is in a boatyard on the Thames; Bell Weir Boats Ltd, Yard Mead, Egham, Surrey, TW20 0AA.
Cash, Cheque, Banker's Draft or Bank Transfer is required for payment, and the payment will have to clear before you can use or take the boat. The boatyard welcomes DIY boaters and also has a full range of professional services on hand. I can also help with delivery if needed but you are more than welcome to continue with the mooring in the boatyard. Please feel free to email, phone or visit.
