'maja' 60ft Cruiser Stern Narrowboat - Moored Near Devizes, Avon & Kennet Canal

Maja - 60ft Cruiser stern narrowboat - built in 1972 and fully refitted in 2011. In 2011 the narrowboat was completely gutted and stripped: it was replated with a new bottom to the water-line and then repainted, fully re-painted and insulated. The interior is largely white giving a lovely light and airy feel to the space and was professionally rebuilt with ash trim, frames and cupboards and a solid oak floor. The live-aboard boat comes complete with a Morso Squirrel woodburning stove with back-boiler providing heating in addition to hot water heated via the engine system to power three radiators as well as domestic uses. From the front entrance of the boat, the living space is largely open plan with the main living space having a sofa bed (that extends from single to double), arm chair, bookcase, dining table and two chairs plus kitchen area complete with 240v fridge-freezer, gas hob, small 240v oven, sink with hot and cold tap, and lots of cupboard storage.

A corridor leads to walk-through bathroom with full size shower cubicle, cassette toilet (with spare new cassette) and basin with hot / cold water. Beyond the bathroom, towards the rear of the boat, is a bedroom with double bed (and under-bed storage) and three large cupboards. At the rear of the boat is the engine room including fuse-box, inverter / charger, and tool storage. There are two gas bottles for cooking plus a 200 gallon water tank and calorifers. The engine is a 1.5 litre BMC diesel which has run faultlessly for us and is very economical.
