Marshan 162 Speedboat

As you can see the time has come for me to sell my pride and joy due to buying a house. The boat is a Marshan 162 from 1989 in original condition and has been dry stored by myself for the past 3 years. From what I was told by the previous owner, the boat was raced under the name Scorpio with number V131. The interior is all original and in usable condition but could soon benefit from a refresh. The rest of the hull and deck are in pretty good condition with no repairs.

The steering is a dual cable rotary helm. I have installed a steering column trim switch which I got from bobs along with a foot throttle. The foot throttle is not currently working as the throttle cable is not long enough, a longer cable will fix that though. It has a 60 litre fuel tank in the rear. The engine is a 2.0 Mercury 135 (The original cowling was stolen but a friend had a 200 cowl lying around).

I gave the engine a good service at the start of the season including the following.New spark plugsNew performance HT leads from Bobs machine shopCarbs were all cleanedNew Thermostats and hosesNew poppet valve assembly New impeller New gearbox oilThe gear case has been coned with a bobs machine shop low water pickup so that the engine could be raised on the transom and fitted a water pressure gauge. Could do with a torque tab fitting to the skeg to counter the torque steer. I fitted some Bobs velocity stacks because I liked the noise but I have the standard airbox which will come with the boat. I also have a set of Boyesen carbon reed valves brand new in the packet which can be included if the boat fetches somewhere near the asking price. The current prop is a 4 bladed, 14.5x24p Promax from Mercury Racing.

The trailer tows very well and I have recently towed the boat from North Wales to the south coast with no issues. I fitted a new axle last year along with two new tyres, new mud guards and a new tow hitch.
