Mirror Offshore Sailing Sail Boat Yacht Cruiser Day Boat

Relisted due to two 'buyers' not having the funds available to pay. I'm sorry to have to say this but if you do not have the funds to pay for the boat please don't bid. Here we have a 19ft 1967 Mirror Offshore in 'end of season' condition, in fact I was still sailing just before Christmas. It's easy to sail and is extremely stable and safe with the triple keel making sure that it stays upright when it takes the ground. A basic galley is fitted and, surprisingly for a boat of this size, so is a sea toilet... Some of you may recognise this boat as the one featured in Dylan Winter's excellent vlog www.keepturningleft.co.uk about sailing around the UK taking him all the way from Bembridge on the the Isle of Wight to the North Norfolk Coast (and all points in between!); it has also appeared in many issues of Practical Boat Owner.

It goes without saying that Dylan encountered a few ' mechanical challenges' along the way...however all of these have now been sorted and the boat is in good order. The boat only draws 18" so really is a go anywhere' boat, Have a read of Charles Stock's excellent 'Sailing just for fun' or take a look at Dylan's early films to get a taste of shoal water cruising and experience the exiting prospect of exploring the creeks and inlets that larger boats can't navigate Pros: It's fitted with the original Volvo MD1 7hp inboard diesel engine which had a complete, ( ie expensive !), strip-down and rebuild two years ago carried out by a professional marine engineer A new Plastimo Roller reefing was fitted three years ago The original gear change and throttle have been professionally repaired and reinstated A genuine 'Elastomuffle' exhaust has been sourced and fitted...as per the original spec. Sails and rigging in good order. A swinging mooring may be available on the river Blackwater, subject to joining a well established sailing club. The boat is currently ashore and is available for inspection.

Much interesting history and provenance is available. If you need a lift onto your trailer this can be arranged at no cost to you. The boat is ready for immediate sale and is free from any financial obligations Cons: It's in end of season condition so would benefit from a bit of cleaning and 'fettling'...ie: The fuel filters and oil should be changed, and the woodwork will need varnishing.. but these are jobs that will have to be attended to on any boat at this time of year. Depth sounder and Speed log are a bit 'erratic'...possibly a simple fix ? The boat has been jet-washed so will also need to be antifouled ready for next season.
