Mitchell 22 Fishing Boat Project

Selling on behalf of my father his Mitchell 22 boat project, unfortunately he is unable to complete the restoration.The hull is in good condition and never suffered any kind of damage, she is one of the original mouldings. These were heavy built with a one piece decking area and forward cabin.Engine is a BMC 3.4 with a PRM gearbox both in working order.The original steel keel has been replaced with a new one. That's the good bits...Now the not so good or things to do list...Engine alignment was incorrect it had a Mickey mouse gearbox coupling to shaft the shaft is inch 1/4 diameter and now has the correct coupling for the gearbox new outward bearing ready for assembly. If you keep the present engine and gearbox you will need to re position the stern tube and shaft.This is a full restoration you are bidding on the hull, engine and gearbox. All timber will need to be replaced and that inc the wheelhouse, there are parts pictured that are inc to help the project along for new owner.Please be aware this will need certain skills to complete and wont be ready to go out on at the end of the week !
The boat is kept at Canvey island Essex I'm sure the boat could remain here subject to the yards approval or she can be loaded onto your transport at your cost.I have tried to describe this as fairly and not try to "big it up" it is a project boat so please do not bid thinking your going to get her running and plop her in the water at the weekend.Saying that she has a nice shape fast hull that is one of the early models so is thick skinned grp if you know what your looking at you will know these 22"s are fairly rare now so makes for a interesting project.Viewing is encouraged if possible before auction end ask seller for details.STARTING AUCTION AT £500 WITH NO RESERVE.Enough said good luck if you decide to bid please ask questions before bidding if you have any doubts.
