This is a project boat, but most of the hard work has been completed as part of planned major refit, including: Professional gel peel using a gel coat peeler and dry out to help address any osmosis - the gel peeler is a specialist tool which takes off an even amount of gelcoat across the hull and, therefore, minimises the amount of work in applying a new gelcoat New electrical wiring runs Diesel heating (Eberspächer) system with hot air ducting installed Fully insulated using armaflex flexible insulation (so no loss of space associated with using rigid insulation or build up of condensation between the hull and rigid insulation) New cold water pipes installed and hot water heating added (including new calorifier) New escape/top hatches fitted Some other benefits: Comes with two sets of sails (dry stored) Radar Solar panels Anchor winch Original cabinets/storage lockers (currently out of the boat) Cooker and fridge Life raft What still needs doing: New gelcoat below the waterline to be applied and associated painting/antifoul. This isn't as big a job as it sounds - the gelcoat is built up in layers (6 or so depending upon the product being used) which are 'painted' on top of each other whilst each coat is tacky. Then, once dry, comes the fairing, rub down and final sealing coats of epoxy - 2/3 days work depending upon how much fairing needs to be done Replacement side windows needed - the existing windows may be salvageable, but not recommended Header panels will need refitting - although existing ones are probably only good as templates Some cabinets/storage lockers still need refitting New toilet and bathroom fittings Painting and decorating internally New cushions - I have foam I can let you have Mast needs erecting, cables connected etc Prop/shaft needs pulling The engine hasn't been turned in a while, but I've no reason to think that there will be a problem In terms of budget for the remaining works, much depends upon how far the new owner wants to go in terms of quality of internal fit out, but I reckon £4-6k (and some elbow grease) will get her back in the water with a new internal fit out. Given that other examples of this type of vessel are listed for circa £28k (without the benefit of insulation, hot water and with their original/dated interior), this is a chance to buy one of these fantastic yachts for considerably less than market value. The boat is currently on a hardstanding at Sharpness Shipyard.
She can stay at her location. The Shipyard can offer a full range of services and are incredibly supportive of boat owners who want to 'have a go' themselves. I can provide a copy of a full survey, which was undertaken in 2013. Most of the major issues identified in the survey have been addressed through the works already undertaken, but this will provide a useful checklist for anybody completing works to the boat. I'm open to realistic offers, but no time wasters or 'tyre kickers' please.
I know the value of the boat and what she could sell for once works are completed. The only reason I am selling is because I have two other much bigger projects to complete and I don't really have the time to devote to a third project. Please contact me for further details, or if you would like to arrange a viewing.
