This Island Plastic Motorsailer has been undergoing an extensive refit and is now in a very strong, sea worthy condition. Major works completed include the installation of a low hours, ex-ships lifeboat, 3 cylinder, Yanmar, 30 HP engine and gearbox plus prop shaft, cutless bearing, etc. New instruments record pressures and temperatures. The engine starts at the first turn of the key and is noted for being one of the most sturdy and reliable marine engines available. Two excellent batteries provide ample power.
The hull has been fully checked and there is no sign of osmosis or other structural problems. The topsides and deck have just been repainted and all the spars stripped back to basics and then re-varnished. She is GAFF rigged. This gives the big advantage of a much shorter mast being needed than with a Bermudan set-up, and as this is mounted within a strong stainless steel tabernacle, it is comparatively easy to lower for maintenance or for passing under bridges or other hazards. Cooking is by the Origo-3000 spirit stove and so the boat is totally gas free.
This gives big savings on insurance and makes it easier to obtain safety certificates, etc. At present there is a chemical toilet fitted but all the plumbing is installed ready for a sea toilet if required. Large tanks are incorporated into the hull for fresh water and fuel storage. A strong cockpit cover clips easily into place and this gives complete weather protection and added security too. Wraparound cockpit seats house beneath them ample storage room for fenders, mooring lines etc.
Steering is by either wheel or tiller. Goblin is located near Evesham, Worcestershire. She rests on a bespoke 4 wheel trailer (available by separate negotiation). Some work is still ongoing - but will be completed shortly. The cost of this is included in the final purchase price.
Goblin can be launched locally at cost. Tewkesbury Marina have a suitable hoist and this then gives access to the Severn and Avon rivers. Alternatively she could be delivered at an agreed mileage rate. The sweet lines of the IP24 give both charm and character - her workboat pedigree establishes her reputation for seaworthiness - her long cast-iron keel creates directional stability too. She is a great boat in great condition.
All the works listed have been carried out by a fully qualified marine craftsman and the high standard he has achieved is a big tribute to his skill and dedication.LOA 23` (7m)LWL 21` (6.40m)BEAM 9` (2.74m)DRAFT 3`6``(1.10m)DISPLACEMENT 3 Tons
