21m ex Trinity House Pilot Cutter, Phillips and Son For classifieds boarders who saw this auction a couple of weeks back I had to end it early as I found a problem with the electrics which has now been fixed, hence Landward is now ready to be bought. 21m ex Trinity House Pilot Cutter, Live aboard 1960. 21m Wooden Motor boat, a Pilot Cutter ex Trinity House, twin Rolls Royce engines, a Classic wooden motor vessel. MV Landward was designed by Thornycroft for Trinity House by Phillip & Sons of Dartmouth in 1960. She was designed as one of three proto-type pilot boats able to work from a shore base.
She has a well documented history. She was the lead vessel in Winston Churchill's funeral procession in 1965. She had an active working life, eventually taken out of service in 1978. She has undergone a complete refit and since 1981 has been used as a charter vessel and a private live aboard. Work has continued and maintained to keep her in working order.

One double (fore) one triple and one single (aft) Cockpit Type: enclosed wheelhouse Hull Type: displacement Keel Type: long The vessel has been moored in an estuary yard for the last few years and could do with much TLC to bring her up to scratch. The hull is sound and water tight and she is in general reasonable condition but does need work to being her back to her heyday condition.
The engines ran fine last year but on starting them last week they ran but were smokey and dropping oil. I would not want to start them again without having them looked at so a the new owner would need to conduct a in depth service prior to starting them but any inspection is very welcome. The galley is fully equipped with sink, cooker (Grill and oven) microwave etc. There are heads with showers both fore and aft and sleeping for six, 2 forward and 4 aft. The layout also includes dining and living spaces, see the layout in the pictures.
