Springer Narrow Boat - 35 Foot Lister engine. Wood-burning stove. 240 volt inverter. Hot water heater. "Ralwyn" is on hard standing near Chester - at Golden Nook Farm Moorings, Long Lane, Waverton, Chester CH3 7RS.
This costs £70.00 per month and can be transferred to the new owner. It's a beautiful spot on the Shropshire Union Canal 10 minuets drive east of Chester. By the time you've done the boat up, you will more than likely be able to moor it on the canal here. There is a crane that visits twice a year to assist all boat owners. You can, of course, arrange for the boat to be re-located to a site of your choosing.
The interior flooring has been removed, the ballast blocks are still there. Some of the interior wall cladding has also been removed. The new owner will be taking on a project boat and completing the removal of all the remaining interior - this is a project boat that will need complete re-fitting, hull inspection, engine inspection, window refurbishment etc. The hull has pitting and corrosion. It will need over-plating or welding as required.
The boat had no leaks when it was taken out of the water (according to the previous owner). Most parts of this boat will need attention, time and effort. There is water inside (from the recent storms) I have a pump that I've used to get it out previously). I have not tested the Lister engine, but was told it turned over by the previous owner, you should presume it needs attention. £150.00 non-refundable deposit by PayPal is required within 12 hours of the Buy-it-Now agreement and cash payment within 3 days.
You will have inspected the boat prior to purchase or be happy to purchase it without inspection: please don't purchase, and then decide when you first visit it (I am selling because I have two small children that need my attention and don't have time to faff about!). I'm going to be strict on payment: if you don't pay the £150.00 deposit within 12 hours I'll relist the item and leave -ive feedback. If you pay the deposit and don't show to pay the balance in cash I'll keet the deposit. If you pay the deposit and show up and haggle on the price, I'll deline your offer and keep the deposit. I'm after a simple transaction that's not dragged out - this is a bargain boat that needs work and should be bought with that in mind.
I purchased this boat several months ago, but realized that I don't have the time to give the project, hence passing the opportunity onto someone else! Please feel free to inspect the boat at the above address at your leisure or message me for instructions. I can be reached at phone. For those interested in keeping the boat where it is: The rent to keep it on the hard standing is £70 per month. Responsibility for this rent will be transferred over to you, it is paid up until the end of March 2020: so you have a month to remove the boat, pay-as-you-go (month by month, £70.00) or pay for the whole year.
The landlord, Roy, is a farmer with a boat yard/hard standing and rights for about 100 narrow boats to be moored on the Shropshire Union Canal - he's a very easy going and friendly chap. If you are thinking of leaving it here to have work done there is the huge advantage of FREE 240 volt power (currently there is an extension lead going into the boat from the power supply). There is a toilet on site and a community of other boat owners. This is not a strict environment (like a high-end marina) and is relaxed and practical (there seems to be one rule only: be reasonable and sort things out yourself!). The boat also as a functional wood burning stove, so very soon you could be staying on the boat itself.
