Betelgeuse is a 32ft stern cruiser narrow boat built in 1994. She’s fitted with a lister LPW2 diesel engine which starts first time and runs and sounds perfect. I have changed the Engine and gearbox oil in Spring and again in Autumn every year since I bought her 4 years ago. She has 2 x 100w solar panels fitted which charge 2 x 120ah leisure batteries through a Victron charge controller, providing more than enough power to run everything onboard for most of the year. This can be supplemented by running engine to top up the batteries in the middle of winter.
The 2 leisure batteries where replaced with new one’s last summer. The starter battery is fine and is kept fully charged via a small solar panel. She was lifted out of the water in June 2015 when the black was removed from the hull, the hull was inspected and 4 coats of bitumen black paint put on, I have photos of this. Entering the boat from the rear down the steps is a fully tiled wet room with fitted thermostatic shower and wash basin, there’s also a cassette toilet. Through to the Galley which has a multifuel stove with a small back boiler, a 12v fridge and a 2-burner gas cooker with oven and grill.
The galley also has built in cupboards sink and worktop. A dropdown table is fitted together with 2 chairs and a digital 12v TV/DVD. Going through to the Lounge is a combined cupboard wardrobe. The seating pulls out to make a comfy double berth. All the foam and covers are in perfect condition and a 12v Radio/CD is fitted.
Flooring throughout the boat was replaced last month with wood effect cushion floor. Led lighting is fitted throughout the boat. Through the double front doors is a fully covered cratch with a storage locker, removable cover, hardwood front frame and glass window. I Stripped the paint and repainted her last year using quality Leigh’s marine paint in ultramarine blue. The bow houses a large cold water tank.
Hot water is supplied from the engine via the clarifier. Inventory. The boat will be sold ready to cruise with the following included. The fuel tank has approx. 100lt of diesel left in. Windlass, Boat pole, mooring pins, tools, spare filters and belts etc.
A set of pots, pans cutlery etc. Too much to list. Also included is a new foam sofa which makes an additional small double berth. A very well maintained, very clean and tidy boat. Everything works as it should.
Just had the Boat Safety Examination done with no issues so she has a new certificate lasting 4 years. Always getting positive comments from passers-by about how nice she is. Genuine reason for reluctant sale. Moored on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Rawlinson Lane, Heath Charnock, Chorley.
