Halfpipe is a cosy and homely 40 foot traditional stern narrow boat built in 2006. I've had her for nearly a year and bought her off the chap who fitted her out and owned her from new. She's been a great little live-aboard on a Monday to Friday basis but I now have a job nearer home so it's time to sell. Entering from the bow through double steel doors with ornate walnut and tiles with stained glass windows, you enter the forward living area, featuring the nicest fireplace I've ever seen on a boat. I believe it was from a traditional traveller's caravan.
The galley includes a full sized gas oven, microwave and fridge (both new in May 2016), stainless steel sink with drainer, kettle, toaster and plenty of storage space. The bathroom is amidships and includes a good quality cassette toilet, shower and small hand-basin. New flooring throughout. This leads through to rear cabin, with a full length double bed - new mattress May 2016, with protector so no need to replace. The engine is a Lister Petter 3 cylinder, keel cooled.
Reliable and always starts, no matter how cold. I had her out the water in June 2016 and she was blacked and repainted to the gunwales. I didn't get a survey as she's only just turned 10yrs old, but visual inspection of the hull was sound. Steel is 10/6/4. Also, 3 new leisure batteries fitted in June.
There's an inverter and a 240v shore line so both 12 and 240v. Halfpipe is located at Ashwood Marina in the West Midlands and full details can be found here: http://www.ashwoodmarina.co.uk/images/halfpipe.pdf Also a little blog a wrote about her is here: https://weekdaybargee.wordpress.com/2016/08/20/on-becoming-a-weekday-bargee/ And a guided tour here: https://www.youtube.com/watch? V=yLFWjJxeICU I spent a long time looking for the right boat and at 40ft with a traditional stern Halfpipe has maximum internal space + great headroom, around 6'4". Cruiser sterns just waist space. She's good to go and has a Boat Safety until 2019.
The roof could probably do with a new coat of paint but apart from that everything is ship-shape - and at only 10yrs old she's got decades ahead of her. I've really enjoyed my time on Halfpipe and will be sorry to see her go. She's up with Ashwood Marina for 27.5k but I'm open to sensible offers. Contact Ashwood for details or ring me, Tom on phone. Cheers Tom
