Narrowboat 26 Foot

26' Narrowboat Approx 1980's For sale, my cosy cottage like narrowboat.I lived on this boat very comfortably for nearly a year, during this time I made improvements...new engine battery, new domestic battery, split charging circuit, replaced floor with hardwood ply and covering in wood effect tiles. Painted last year in gloss Purple with cream roof, new boiler and water pump. Last year I found a local engineer who took out the original Ducati engine and replaced with a virtually brand new twin cylinder 10hp Beta Marine engine. This engine he originally supplied and fitted to a boat that subsequently failed its boat safety so the engine only had around 5 hours running time.It is SO quiet when cruising. The hull has been re plated throughout and blacked within the last couple of years so it's solid.There are hardwood worktops and quite a large wetroom/toilet, the shower is very good.The dining area converts into a double bed, at the foot of the bed is a Blaupunkt TV.There is a fridge freezer which runs on the 240v shoreline or 12v (although it would be better with an extra battery on 12v) There is a large new solar panel on the roof with digital controller.

Bad points? As I had bought a house to renovate I haven't visited or started the boat much in the last 6 months, hence the engine needs a mechanic to check over the fuel system, it starts and runs however starts to race after a while which may be an air leak in the fuelling.If I had the tools or time , or could find a diesel mechanic it would run sweet again i'm sure.I am reflecting the above in the price as I was going to advertise for around 12k, I sold my last boat several years ago for this and this boat is better so will be an investment.Offers considered. The boat will come with a new 4 year boat safety cert, being carried out this week.
