The first lot of photos shows the SportCat-4 (4 seater) and the last lot of photos shows the SportCat 2 seater. Even though the craft is designed for white water, it is also an excellent touring craft - EG multi-day long river camping trip with space to stow kit. It is the only frameless R-2 and R4 design in the world that incorporate kneeling seats with kneeling braces. These seats are very comfortable and give paddlers superb control of the boat. The seats enable paddlers to reach out further and execute more technical techniques.

The seated paddling style is similiar as used on dragon boats. How does the Cat compare to a normal raft? Unlike a raft, there is no floor that gets pushed by waves or gets sucked into holes. Instead, there is just the raised cross inflatable tubes connecting the two main floatation tubes. What this means for you as a catarafter, is that you will have a harder time flipping your raft.

In very simple terms.....Cats are like skiing and rafts are like snow boarding down a mountain - one carves down the river and the other slides down the river. Cats are simply fast and nimble.
