Norman 20 Fishing Cruise Boat

Norman 20 boat sale or part sale partnership or part ex Norman 20 boat. This is a cracking boat that could be used (as I have used it) as a fishing boat in the north sea, or it could be put on a river as a cruiser. As I say I have used it as a fishing boat and it has been excellent. It is currently moored up in the river Blythe and I may still use it before it is sold. It has a trailer with the boat, but although it will do the job it does need a bit of work and a paint job.

I have used this boat all summer and a few times over the winter. Now about the boat It has an Enfield leg with Forward N and Reverse which as anyone knows these legs are mega reliable, as is the engine it has a Peugeot 1.9 turbo diesel engine this will be about 80 to 90 bhp. The belt was done in the summer as was the water pump they are very easy to change due to the way the engine is fitted. This is also very cheap to run, I get 2 to 3 trips fishing on 10 to 15 L of red diesel. I don’t go far out about 5 mls is as far as I go, as I like to see a bit land LOL but saying that I catch most fish within a mile any way.

The tank in the boat will hold approx 50 L and I only top it up after 2 trips. The engine has its own water system and it is cooled down with a car radiator and a home made heat exchanger made from ss and copper which has cold sea water pumped into it via 2 water pumps, then the water is channelled out of the exhaust at the back of the boat. The engine runs at approx 70c but this can be adjusted with a temp adjuster I have fitted, this simply switches one of 2 fans on and off. I also have an old Volvo heat exchanger with the boat if you wanted to remove the radiator but I like it that way as you can get a bit heat from it on the cold days. The boat will run all day long like this it is a fishing boat not a speed boat but it is no slouch on normal all you do is use more fuel and lift the front up in the air if you screw it.

Can only imagine what it would be like in a river with no tides. The boat also has a spare engine I have which was a cracking engine when it was in the car but has been sitting in my shed for 2 years now. I also have a tool that was made up to line up the engine with the outdrive. The boat will come with a basic fish finder and a ship to shore as well as a radio cd player all these work off a separate battery so I don’t run out of charge when sitting fishing. The boat also comes with a emergency outboard engine which will attach to a home made bracket on the back.

It is a 4.5 Johnston it runs off petrol and is a cracking engine, but the cord was broken so I put a hole in the top of it and made a socket that goes into a rechargeable drill to start it. Its actually much easier that way and am surprised more people do not do it lol. But you do need to remember to take your drill. The boat has a manual bilge pump you will only need to use it after a big down pore if you have the cover off. The cover has a few clips missing that hold it in place so over the winter I just screw it down where there is a missing clip you can buy these very cheep.

It has a horn, lights, water temp gage, a box in front of the seat to put you own gear in and I use to stand on to get a better view. As well as pockets all the way around the back of the boat for gear. A big Plastic bin on one side for the fish you catch. Inside the boat you can make the cushions into a bed for 2 there is a cupboard with a sink and a port a loo and on the other side a cupboard I have the radio ect in. It has a shelf I put a small gas stove on to make a cuppa but you can only do this when going up the river or on calm days or the kettle will go flying.

The boat does need a paint job on the top, the floor inside is ply so could do with a covering of fibreglass or paint and the hull needs a scrape down as it has been in the water a while if I get the chance I will do this but am very busy and having problems with my health . This is the only reason am selling and am gutted or am willing to get a partner 50/50.
