Hi for sale is my boat “Bobbing Along” or Bobbi for short. She is a Norman 22 (and a half) foot a Mk I, and sometimes mistaken for a Norman 23 motor cruiser. Built around 1972 she is a solid go-anywhere motor cruiser the perfect entry model if you are looking to getting into boating, looking for a weekend retreat or to retire and travel the canal systems. Fitted with a Perkins 4107 diesel engine one of the most reliable old school engines available its power is driven through an Enfield leg. Upgrades: Over the winter period and in the last two weeks I have: Serviced the leg including changing the two pronged toggle throw arm upgrading this with a ro-bust solid brass type.
Rewired the electronics. Rewired the fuel lines. Fitted a fuel – water separator. Replaced the throttle cable. Replaced the gear cable.
Replaced the Morse gear lever box. Replaced the battery, Replaced the alternator, Replaced the propeller. Replaced start assist heater. Drained emptied cleaned the stainless steel fuel tank. She’s been out of the water this week servicing the leg and Antifouled over the last two days the list goes on….
Images are available. The internal layout includes sink, pressurised and working fresh cold water tap, mini gas single stove, toilet area (toilet, porta potty not included). Two tables, four seating area, she will accommodate four persons sleeping comfortably two on the memory foam forward double bed mattress and two on the side chairs. The memory foam mattress can also be moved to the aft end of the boat to make a comfortable sun lounger. If I were to keep her, there are a few items I would address myself nothing major just cosmetic.
The canopy could do with a clean and I would add some colour to her paint work, oh and the fuel gauge reads backwards? Genuinely selling as I’ve bought a project slightly larger boat and have decided (or my wife has) that its time for “Bobbi” to go. Moored up at Hempholme on the Driffield canal system out in the country where it’s so tranquil. Mooring fees are not included in the sale but the land owner advises me that he currently has three moorings available serviced with electricity and water. If you’re not planning on staying at Hempholme you may join the River Hull and sail her down to the Humber then onwards to her new destination alternatively.
Nearby there is a slipway and/ or she could be lifted out onto a trailer subject to separate negotiations of course. The internal décor is not to everyone’s taste and you could make her your own quite easily. She doesn’t have a safety certificate and it wouldn’t take much to get one but on the Driffield canal system she doesn’t need one. I’m not expecting to sell for silly money realistically accepting offers in the region of £2,850. I ask you don’t waste my time please, any genuine questions are welcome please contact me through classifieds board with your number and I will call you back.
Not selling abroad, not interested in swaps, no agents, don’t let your child or partner bid on your behalf, your bidding to buy not to view the sale will be final. Advertised locally so I have the right to end the auction before the listing ends, she is my first boat so I may even change my mind after the nostalgia hits. Accepting payment in cash or bank transfers only, contact to be made within 2 hours of the listing ending, with the payment made within 48hrs unless agreed otherwise. Before making a bid or an offer I would recommend a viewing and test drives are more than welcome as I have nothing to hide. Thanks for looking and happy bidding
