Aquila is a Nova 27. Solid sea cruiser currently moored on the beautiful Vilaine River, Brittany, North West France. She's in the ideal location to access the excellent cruising grounds of Morbihan, Belle Isle, Quiberon, and would make an ideal liveaboard, or a fabulous base for a sailing or fishing holiday, floating home! 6.3ft head room, 9.8ft beam, 4.6ft draft. Four berths, marine toilet, gas oven with grill, and two burner hobs.
VERY cheap mooring! The marina at La Roche Bernard is very sheltered in all wind directions, and very difficult to get a berth! It is ideally located for easy access to UK via Nantes airport (55mins drive), or Portsmouth/St Malo & Plymouth/Roscoff ferry ports, and right in the heart of stunning coastal cruising grounds. Or 30 miles of non tidal inland river system, a fishing hotspot and navigable all the way to Redon. She comes with JRC 1000 Radar.
ST 1000 Auto tiller. Plastimo compass. Well maintained Volvo Penta 24hp engine. Lavac sea toilet. Roller Genoa.
Fully battened main sail with three reefs, stack pack and lazy jacks. Plastimo oven with grill and 2 burner hob. Cabin table. Shore power. 240v and 12 v, mains circuit breaker.
Batteries charged via engine or shore power. She is solidly built and ready to cruise or liveaboard. Very capable boat and very comfortable. Easy to singlehand. Deep dry cockpit.
Tiller helm. Depth/Log. Handheld VHF. GPS. Spray hood and dodgers. Danforth anchor. Manual windlass.
Auto bilge pump. Plates, cutlery, pans etc. We sailed her from North West UK, via Irish Sea, Isles of Scilly, Brest, Iles de Glenans, Benodet, and now Baie de Quiberon. She is a good solid boat to continue cruising, or equally ideal as a liveaboard or as a base for a floating holiday, adjacent to the cute little artisan town of La Roche Bernard, Brittany. Any questions, or to arrange a viewing please email.
More info and pictures on Instagram @sailaquila On 17-May-17 at 12:25:03 BST, seller added the following information: I'm getting so many enquiries about the mooring rates/options here so thought I would add info. BUT PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH THIS IS A GUIDE ONLY BASED ON 2016/2017 RATES/OBSERVATIONS. She's currently on a buoy at La Roche Bernard. Rates this last year...on the buoy...end Oct - end Mar €68/month (winter rate on buoy) I think it was about €78/m on pontoon(?) inc power/water. April/May/June €76/m.
July/August €121/m. Or €38/w if you actually want to go off sailing and just come back for odd weeks. :) There is an annual deal here called a Passeport Escales, which gives you either pontoon or buoy, with free nights (book able ahead) in about 100(?) other partner marinas on UK south coast, France, Jersey, Spain. There is a website for more info about that. The annual price for Passeport Escales in LRB is €1364 buoy or pontoon.
Other options are a slightly cheaper Marina (Forleux) about 3 miles further up river, pretty place, more 'rural' quiet, offer both pontoons and buoy options. Also offers Passeport. Beautiful place, very sheltered, non tidal. Both LRB and Forleux are above the Arzal Barrage. There is a larger, more expensive marina downriver at Arzal.
There is a good liveaboard community here. You could negotiate an overwinter on the pontoon (which includes power) so you could plug in heaters etc. There are PLENTY of places to anchor for free in the river. You can live very cheaply here! What I have noticed is the 'deal' changes depending on who you speak to, whether you're in person at the desk, or on the phone.
You MUST be prepared to negotiate your own deal, there is a waiting list, and there are also deals to be had. Amazing how far up the waiting list a smile and some polite French will get you! Hope this helps.
