13 ft Pearly Miss Classic Alloy Speed Boat. I'm advertising this on behalf of a friend who doesn't have an classifieds board account and the boat is available to view in Hamble, Southampton by prior arrangement both weekdays and weekends. Since owning the boat a full restoration has been started. Although not entirely necessary the hull was shot blasted back to the bare aluminium and spray painted with 2 pack epoxy primer to be good for another 50+ years. The hull below the waterline was spray painted with white Awlgrip leaving the topsides ready to be painted in your choice of colour, although the original plan was a flag blue hull with a white deck.
The seat bases and seat backs were replaced with 1 inch marine ply and given a quick coat of clear polyester resin and although this has started to deteriorate cosmetically on the front seat, the wood is still good. The transon was also reinfored with 1 inch marine ply and raised a few inches to take a modern 4 stroke outboard. A 30hp was planned but the hull was designed for up to 40hp. All the work was carried out professionally. Aside from what is seen in the pictures there are a few original deck fittings included, cleats etc and the original bow fitting, windscreen supports and the makers plaque.
In summary all the hard work has been completed and a new owner would be able to finish the boat to their own specification. You will need your own trailer to collect although assistance can be given with loading etc. 'Hobbs of Henley' still run a fleet of these boats as self hire charter boats on the Thames as testiment to the built quality and there is a mass of information around the internet about these very popular little boats, to quote from one: 'The Pearly Miss was a sport boat weighing 225lbs costing £239 constructed of 17 gauge sheet marine alloy. They were designed to run at speeds of 34mph and take around 40hp outboard motors. They were and still are a very versatile boat and have proved themselves to be incredibly long lasting'.
