The Picton was a pleasure to use and we had lots of fun with it skiing, boogie boarding and fishing until we upgraded to a larger boat, hence it hasn’t been used for a number of years but has been kept covered. It has the original gel coat in white and grey and has a good, sound hull, tinted screen and is fitted with all the remotes for steering and engine control. It’s fitted with an aluminium fold-up boarding ladder and all the stainless steel fittings (bow rails etc) are original and all in good condition. The upholstery is original and is serviceable but showing signs of age, especially the head-rest to front seat attachment join. All the upholstery panels are intact making a re-upholstery task much easier should you wish to undertake this.

The boat comes with a Yamaha steel fuel tank, battery box (no battery) and sits on a two wheel custom made galvanised bunk type road/launching trailer. New wheel bearings (mini type) have recently been fitted to the offside, the nearside ones were ok. The engine is a 60 HP Yamaha twin cylinder two stroke with electric start. Mechanically the engine and drive train are in good condition and has good compression (stored with extra oil in the bores). However, it needs a new ignition module, the original one failed as I was about to sell the boat for £1500 a couple of years ago.

I was going to construct a module to use the existing ignition triggers from the flywheel to run two self contained CD modules that have their own integral coils in the plug cap but it never happened! Three new CD ignition units come with the boat (only 2 needed) and it is a fairly simple task for anyone with a little electronics knowledge to construct the module. The CD units just need a + 12V supply, ground and a + 12V trigger pulse. Well, there it is, with a bit of work it will make a lovely boat again, the engine, for spares, alone must be worth at least £400, so happy bidding. The boat is available for collection only and you would need to bring a trailer board to enable you tow it away.
