Boat Type: Jet Ski
Year of Registration: 2001
Welcome to my regrettable sale of my jetski. It is a 2001 2 stroke Polaris SLH 700 cc. I have owned this ski for the past 8 years, whilst my good friend of mine had owned it for 7 years before me. It's been incredible fun, but unfortunately I moved away from the sea a couple of years ago and I'm just not using it as much as I wish I could. The jetski is a 2 seater and is a very nibble, great looking ski that pulls like a train and great on fuel. The jet ski has a self feed oil mixing system, so you have no worries of mixing up the fuel and oil before filling the ski.
Body work -There are a couple of very minor light marks as expected with a ski at the age, however apart from the worst mark/scuff going through the decal (pictured) I would say that it is in imacculate condition for its age! Front compartment hood gas strut gave up, meaning the front hood doesn't stay up on its own whilst the front compartment is open. It doesnt effect the use of the front hood. I never got round to ordering a new one. New gas struts are around £15-£20 Engine -I have ALWAYS flushed the engine after every outing.
During long periods of not in use, ie in the winters, I would always use inhibiting oil through the engine to help with preservation, whilst giving the engine a turning over once a month to prevent any risk of siezure. 5 years ago I completely rebuilt the carb with all new seals and diaphragm.Every year I would change out the spark plugs, however the current spark plugs are just over a few years old, purely because they've had very little hours on them, maximum of 10 hours. The battery is brand new replaced a couple months ago(receipt available) after finding it was starting to struggle holding its charge. Other than that, the engine is running as it should The video of the jetski running on the trailer was taken on the 14/5/23. Just to add, I've used a cable tie to activate the kill switch as I forgot to pick up the landyard from home. Landyard is present with the sale of the ski Trailer- Wheel bearings last replaced 3 years ago with only 2 outings in sea water.
On wheel bearing changes a high grade of Aerospace grease has always been used. I have got a new pair of wheel bearings and hubs that will come with the ski for when the next bearing change needs to be done.Tow hitch does stick on one of the locking pads, when you pull the handle back to drop onto the tow hitch, presume the spring is becoming a little weak to push the pin out. Nothing a screwdriver doesn't assist with when hooking up. Everything runs as it should and there are no issues with the jet skis running. The only thing that doesn't quiet work correctly and have never figured out why or if these skis are mean't to, is every time the battery has been disconnected, the LCD doesn't remember the amount of hours that has been accumulated in its time, so I have no guarantee of the exact figure of what the hours are on.
In the last 8years of my ownership I predict that I've cover around 80 hours. Speaking with my friend who owned it before me we expect the hours are around 200 hours, however it has been very well looked after by professional Aerospace engineers as our profession over the past 15 years of its life of 22 years. Any spare parts that relate to the ski will come with it as an inclusion. This also includes a life jacket, half a bottle of oil and the cover which could do with being re waterproofed again. In regards to collection and viewing unfortunately this is very restricted to weekends as the jetski is not located with myself but about an hour from me in weston super mare, as I no longer have a vehicle fitted with a tow bar.
In this instance please don't waste my time and please be a serious buyer.I am being open and honest to any issues with the ski to prevent even wasting your time. Thanks in advance! I will be extremely gutted to let it go out of my social circle to not be able to have a blast on it again! Any questions please fire away!
