Portabote PB12 Folding Boat

This is the reluctant sale of my portabote folding boat, due to a change in my job I just do not enough time now to use it. This very versatile boat and has been recently used on the lochs in Scotland. It does have a few marks and scratches from use but this does not affect its operation and is totally water tight. It is very stable on the water and has a low draught so can easily be launched from a slipway or beach. This boat has plastic seats which increases buoyancy (unlike the older wooden seat version).

The boat folds 3 times along its length and takes up little space. A versatile craft. Specifics: Porta-Bote PB12. Seats 3 adults. L 3.85m x W 1.52m (12' 8" x 5' 0") when assembled.

Folds along its length and can be put on a roofrack (only 7" thick - about 18cm). Easy to assemble - takes minutes with practice. Portable: Weighs about 40Kg, so can be unloaded and assembled by one person but is really easy with 2 people. On the water, it is easy to manoeuvre. Will fit on a suitable roof-rack or trailer.

Durable: The company building these boats have sold over 100,000 units over the past 30-40 years. They were originally used in the Vietnam War for quick deployment and loaded onto helicopters. Made of cross-linked polyethylene, they are very tough and durable. Inflatables get punctures and GRP boats can crack; the Porta-Bote is virtually indestructible and is unsinkable. Accessories: The boat unfolds (integral transom and engine plate) and is assembled by putting in the thwarts (seats).

Included are 2 original fit-together 2 piece oars which fit into integrated rowlocks. From arrival at the beach, you can be on the water in 10 minutes; with practice, you could halve that time.
