Princess 32, GRP 4 berth cruiser on twin Perkins diesels with Volvo out drives. I bought this boat last September as a larger replacement for one I had just sold, an unexpected change in work commitments means I can no longer spend enough time on her to justify the expense. She had a full pre-purchase survey done last August which I will make available to serious enquiries or viewings, the BSS certificate runs until July 2021. She has a spacious open cockpit with a canopy in excellent condition. As well as the driving position the cockpit also houses the gas locker, 3 way fridge, and microwave.
Lift up hatches give access to the engines and a large lazarette which houses the fuel tank, fresh water tank, calorifier and holding tank but still offers a good amount of storage space. The engine bilge has an automatic bilge pump fitted. There are four heavy duty batteries (three of which are new) offering plenty of power for starting or leisure use. There is also a new 2000w/4000w pure sine wave inverter giving mains power even when away from shore power. Three steps down takes you into the cabin which at some time in the past has had a major refit, all furniture is now solid light oak and must have cost a small fortune at the time. On the left is the shower room which also contains a wash basin, mirrored storage cabinet and electric macerator toilet which can either pump to holding tank or outside. To the right is the galley with full four ring hob and oven and stainless steel sink with hot and cold running water. Water is heated by engines or electric.Further forward is the dining table for four on the left and a three seater bench seat on the right.
The table can be converted to a double bed if required. There is a TV mounted above the table with the signal coming from an externally mounted Maxview Gazelle Omni-directional aerial.Forward again is the twin V-berth which can also convert to a double. All seats have storage below and there is also two large cupboards behind the front V-berths. All roof lighting is new LED and there are 240v sockets throughout. She comes with all ropes, fenders, anchor etc.
Plus there is a huge amount of spares. Now for the bad bits, all boats of 40 years old have faults and this one is no exception but I am aware of nothing that can't be done by a reasonable DIY'er. There are two window leaks, one above the front V and one in the galley, I can see no reason why these can't be re-sealed and to give you an idea of the severity the front one amounted to about 5 inches of water in a bucket and the galley one was around 3 inches of water in a washing up bowl at the end of an extremely rainy winter, in other words they would probably be negligible in the average summer. The cockpit roof had a leak due to a badly seated screw, this was very quickly and easily corrected but a corner of the plyboard roof lining has rotted. Again a fairly easy job to replace.I can't get the fridge to run on gas, it was running last October and hasn't been used so I assume it's a fairly minor fault and possibly just my own incompetence. The radio fitted in the cockpit doesn't work, there is 12v power to it so worst case scenario is a new head unit. classifieds board has them for less than £20 and ten minutes to fit.
I have been as honest as I can but this boat was transported by road to it's current moorings and has not been taken out since, the engines have been run regularly but that's about it, I don't pretend to have a long standing intimate knowledge of her and viewing before bidding is highly recommended. She is currently moored in a gated and locked marina in Nottingham, you will need to contact me to arrange to view. My number is phone, I can't always answer so please leave a message and I'll ring you back within the hour, or send me a message with your contact details via classifieds board. Previous experiences force me to say 'Serious bidders only please' and the winning bid will be the price I expect, you are bidding to buy not to negotiate. Also the boat will be going nowhere until cleared funds are in my bank or cash is in my hand.
Payment by cash or bank transfer only. She is advertised elsewhere at £12,000 any offer close to this could mean she is removed from here at any time. Once all the jobs are complete and a good clean and polish is carried out I would expect her to fetch around £15-16k.
