Princess 414 Motor Cruiser Want to live the dream ? Escape on your own Motor Cruiser to points warm ? Go for it....... Really........ Do it now......... This boat was our home for 4 years until circumstances forced a change of plan. We were going to go back, but life moves on, and it is now, sadly, something that we have to leave behind. To liveaboard, she is ideal, or is a fabulous holiday cruiser, with space for the family or to take friends.
She took us safely around the Mediterranean, and we covered thousands of miles and a multitude of interesting ports, odd harbours and strange anchorages in her - she is comfortable, spacious and reliable.......... Easy to handle, and an ideal boat for either a beginner or someone experienced. She steers well, and has bow thrusters fitted to make things even easier. No expense was spared on this old girl. All receipts for work done are available. When we bought her, she had been a bit neglected.
The bodywork was sound (vitally important......) and being a Princess of 1983 vintage, she was solid as a rock. However, her navigation equipment, engine and other bits had seen better days, so we ploughed in and got her sorted out, with the intention of keeping her for ever......... We even had both engines rebuilt by Volvo France (not a cheap job....... we have the receipts available) after our first year because it became apparent that the servicing that we had had done in the UK didn't quite cut it........... She sleeps six comfortably - She has an aft double cabin, with en-suite shower and portable toilet (we never used this, just used the space as extra storage) and plenty of wardrobe / drawer space. One forward cabin, with V shaped bunks The Dining area converts to a full sized comfy double bed, and then back again to a table and seating for six We had smaller children sleep on the bench seats in the main cabin from time to time, it fits two or three, depending on size. She has a fitted kitchen, with hot and cold water double round sinks, gas cooker, microwave and fridge and enough power points and storage space for all your food and kitchen needs. She has a forward shower and toilet connected to a waste tank (newly fitted in 2013) She has a 4kw Paguro Generator, new and fitted in 2013, which has had the grand total of 9 hours use........ (it cost a fortune) Her navigation equipment was fully uprated, as were her fire extinguisher system and other safely equipment.
Her owner is an ex Naval type, so he wasn't mucking about with the technical operation nor the safety of the boat There is a new and unused 6 person life raft included in the sale. She comes complete with everything that you need, including enough fenders for Italy (don't ask) and is ready to take away. She was serviced regularly, and professionally, right up to the time she was lifted from the water, and is a good genuine boat. I would advise, of course, another service before she goes off again, but with proper care, she should last for years. She is currently for sale with a broker in Port Napoleon, St Louis du Rhone in France (not far from Cannes.......) and is out of the water for safekeeping.
I've copied and pasted their (rather more professional) advert below - and they are available to deal with showing anyone around the boat. A permanent berth is available there - at a reasonable cost. She is up for sale for E64000 - which would equate to about £55,000, but she was priced in Euros before the pound dropped like a stone, so we're obviously willing to compromise on price, and she won't improve for not being used, even though she is out of the water and being cared for. We would be willing to sell her, or would consider a swap for something that we will use - a Narrowboat maybe, or Motorhome, or Property (UK or European) of one kind or another, with a cash adjustment if necessary either way. We're open to offers, and would like to see this old girl back in use and doing what she does so well........... carrying you safely and comfortably on your travels.
