Sorry for all the words - but due to the nature of the sale, and as a limited company we are obliged to include the following information in the description. Please read and understand all the following before contacting us with questions. Thanks... This vessel has been abandoned at our marina (Preston Marina - PR2 2YP), and we are selling it to regain the mooring space, and recover some outstanding mooring fees. We are empowered to sell the vessel, and it will be sold with no outstanding debts or encumbrances. We don't have any information about the vessel's history.
It is a project boat and we are describing it as not being fit for purpose in it's current condition. It is sold as seen with no guarantees or warranties implied or offered. We are not boat builders, repairers or surveyors and cannot engage in discussions on the work and costs required to make her fit for purpose. That is up to the resources, skills and requirements of the buyer and/or end user. Viewing prior to purchase is strongly recommended.
The following information is offered in good faith but cannot be guaranteed.... The vessel is a Kingfisher 30 fibreglass sailing yacht built in the 1970's, approx 30ft long, with a forecabin with 2 bunks, a saloon with 2 bunks, as well as a galley and navigation table. Between the cabins is a toilet compartment with sea toilet and a hanging locker. Behind the cockpit is a small aft cabin, which has 2 small berths but is probably better used for storage. The cabin does have a slight leak when it rains - we think possibly around the mast deck seal and/or the fore hatch. She is a bilge (twin) keel model - able to take the ground.
She has a sloop rig - a furling jib and a mainsail. We have not hoisted the sails but we believe they will be serviceable. She has a Vetus inboard diesel engine which is currently in place, but in a state of dissasembly. We don't know why. The cylinder heads were skimmed 2 years ago and are in dry storage off the boat.
The engine therefore is described as a non-runner. Non of the equipment shown is tested, and should be assumed not to be working. The boat has been afloat here for approx 7 years. The hull below the waterline will be heavily fouled with barnacles and should not be taken away by water as is. Our sale asking price includes a lift out of the water by crane, unstepping the mast and loading directly to suitable road transport, or possibly to hard standing in our boatyard.
Ideally after purchase our preference is for the buyer to take the boat away by road in its entirerety. This is to be done as close to within 7 days of purchase as possible (depending on crane availbility). We do not do road transport and are not able to give prices for this. It must be arranged by the buyer (as well as unloading at the destination). On this basis nothing may be removed from the boat while it remains here at Preston Marina.
The estimated weight of the boat is around 5 tonnes, so a HGV will be required. We may consider allowing the boat to stay here at Preston Marina, depending on the outcome of discussions with the buyer. Please note - living aboard is not an option here. A minimum 12 month berthing contract, with 50% paid in advance would be required. The current annual berthing cost of this for a boat of this size is £1910 inc VAT (which includes a maximum of 3 months ashore in our boatyard - excluding lifting (£210 per lift).
Viewing is available by prior appointment 10am - 4pm (not Sundays). Call 0phone or 0phone between 10am and 5pm. Email email. Maximum of 3 on board at a time for viewing- sorry, no children or pets please. Appropriate flat soled, non slip footwear (eg trainers) should be worn.
