Please read the full description before making enquiries.. Presenting the Caraboat. Classic amphibious caravan, or road-going boat. Designed by John Askham and produced from the early 1970’s, they now remain in extremely small numbers and seldom become available to buy.This particular model has recently been fully restored and modernised to a high standard, using good quality materials. Generally, all fittings have either been replaced with new or refurbished. This is a very rare opportunity to own a slice of British eccentricity at its best.
And a rock solid investment. The Caraboat was partially restored 10 years ago before I purchased it, consequently structural work had been completed, the steels inside the monocoque have been replaced.(documentation present of all previous work and the restorative work I have undertaken over the last year or so.) Brief spec:240v hookup with rcd, battery charger.2x240sockets, 1 x12v socket. Led lights throughout.Onboard fresh water tank, pressurised on demand pump. Auto bilge pump.4 berth, one king size bed forward with a single stern quarter berth.
Hammock bunk above (suitable for small child up to about 5 yrs old) Galley features 2 burner gas hob, sink and cold tap.Heads with small basin, cold tap and portable toilet.Large Waeco top loading fridge. Lots of additional under seat and cupboard storage inc wardrobe over 1/4 berth.The flooring panels and most of the modular seating units have been designed to be easily removed to enable bilge access.The troublesome original french doors have been replaced with heavy Perspex drop in panels that makes access to the forward deck easier. Here exterior lockers double as seats at either side.A large part of the interior is clad in hygienic pastel grey pvc, chosen for practicality and longevity.Forward deck canvas canopy, removable or can be rolled. New Brakes, bearings, tyres, towing electrics etc etc..Morse controls and cables relatively new. Transom board & Connections for Honda outboard present.You can walk, dance, sunbathe etc on the roof.

Recently, the Caraboat has been successfully launched and docked for a weekend and I can confirm she is fully watertight and lauched without a hitch. I will ‘consider’ part exchanges, classic car, motorhome and boat may be of interest, but not projects.
