Presenting the Caraboat. Classic amphibious caravan, or road-worthy boat, no one really knows..Designed by John Askham and produced from the early 1970’s, they now remain in small numbers and seldom become available to buy.This particular model has been fully restored and modernised to a high standard, using good quality materials.This is a very rare opportunity to own a slice of British eccentricity at its best. And a solid investment. Brief spec:240v hookup with rcd, 12v voltage converter/battery charger.2x240sockets, 1 x12v socket.Led lights throughout.Onboard fresh water tank, pressurised system with large pump.Auto bilge pump.3 berth, one king size bed forward with a single stern quarter berth.Galley features 2 burner gas hob, sink and cold tap.Heads with small basin, cold tap and portable toilet.Large Waeco top loading fridge. Lots of additional under seat and cupboard storage inc wardrobe over 1/4 berth.The flooring panels and most of the modular seating units have been designed to be easily removed to enable bilge access.The troublesome original french doors have been replaced with heavy Perspex drop in panels that makes access to the forward deck easier. Here exterior lockers double as seats at either side.A large part of the interior is clad in hygienic pastel grey pvc, chosen for practicality and longevity. Forward deck canvas canopy, removable or can be rolled up.New Brakes, bearings, tyres etc..Morse controls and cables relatively new. Transom Connections for Honda outboard present.Outboard not included.I understand the original weight was specified at 750kg? I expect it to be maybe 850kg now. She also has a New Boat Safety Scheme certificate as of this week..
