When I bought this boat earlier this year the chap said he had done as much as he could to this boat. Well now I’m in the same position. Other commitments, budget and the dreaded virus mean that I cannot work on it as much as I would like. When I got it a lot of work had been done to the hull and there was a running engine. Whilst the hull is watertight it soon became apparent that water had got into the engine through a leaky pipe on the cooling system.
This has meant a full rebuild of the engine which is currently under way. The following works are already paid for some of which are still to be completed. Head skim and gasket, fuel pump, starter motor, coil rings. Plus around £1400 in labour. A new battery and solenoid has already been fitted.A wood burning Stove was already installed.Works carried out by myself are as follows;Just about everything above the waterline has been repainted.
The decks were all repainted in non-slip paint. The boat only had two handrails so new were fitted. Everything inside has been revarnished/ painted. The shower was really too small so was removed as was the toilet. This was replaced by a type of chemical/ composting toilet.
All plumbing for tanks and shower has been left in place behind panelling so could be restored if needed. All windows have been removed and re-sealed to make them more watertight. Some panes had been replaced with Perspex so these were changed for correct marine toughened glass. The panelling was finished off in the front cabin and all painted and varnished.A solar panel was installed to keep the battery charged. The boat already had an automatic bilge pump fitted which works well.Floors in the cabins have been painted again with a suitable non-slip paint. There are ample curtains for the various windows etc.Microwave fitted.Mains hook up works Ok.Boat is currently at Horning on a very nice roadside mooring which includes electric and water. £120 a month.A lot more photos can be made available to interested parties.Works needed are as follows;Engine needs finishingSink units in both toilet and kitchen area need installing,The 12 volt side of the electrics needs a good overhaul as has altered about over the yearsThe Morse cables have become damaged during work on engine so need replacing.BSS ‘til 2024All in All this could be a very attractive boat when finished. I’m at the stage though where I just cannot do anymore to it.Viewings Welcome prior to the end of the sale please contact Nigel on phonePlease note I do not accept PayPal so do not ask.The boat was built in 1966 and measures ten feet wide at it's wides point and 30 feet long and probably sits in approx / draws two feet of waterAny Questions re the Boat please call Nigel the owner on the listed mobile numberThe insurance on the boat is transferable at no extra cost. Can be supplied with a brand new three phase generator is required.
