Engine Make: Petter
I have owned this Yacht for 7 years and sailed her around the Solent and South Coast, she has always felt very safe and capable in any weather. She comes with a roller reefing Genoa in good condition, a fully battened slab reefing main sail also in good condition and a little used Spinnaker. I also have some older sails that came with the boat if the new owner would like them. The hull is in it's original gel coat finish, there are some marks and signs of wear as with any yacht of this age, she was antifouled with Micron Extra April 2016, the makers claim this will last 2 seasons. The side decks and cabin roof are treated with anti-slip paint in good condition, there are stainless steel pulpit and pushpit rails with guard wires between, the pushpit is equipped with holders for the horseshoe lifebuoy and floating rescue line Anchor with chain and warp is stored in the anchor locker on the foredeck, a kedge anchor is stored in the cockpit locker.
The cockpit has a varnished tiller, a plastimo compass (new 2015) a Bi-Data depth and log, Garmin chart plotter (not on a fixed bracket as I remove it when the boat is left on the mooring), tiller pilot and engine controls. There is a further Garmin GPS in the cabin with the DSC VHF(also removed when unattended). The washboards are varnished and in good condition, some teak strips in the cockpit would benefit from some varnish. There are 2 large lockers in the cockpit with fenders and warps and storage space. The spray hood is a little tired, it could do with a good clean but the window panels etc are intact and serviceable, I have an old set of dodgers but these are only useful as a pattern for making a new set. The original Petter diesel engine was replaced 4 years ago with a newer Petter unit that had only done low hours in fresh water that came from a Thames launch that was converted to electric power.
The interior is generally in good condition, there are 2 V berths in the fore peak with a hatch above to provide natural light and an escape route, between the forepeak and the main saloon is a sea toilet to port and a hanging 'wet locker' to starboard. The main saloon has a dinette to port with seats for 4 that converts to a double berth, a galley unit to starboard with sink, hand pumped cold water, Plastimo gas cooker with 2 rings and a grill on a gimble, storage lockers with plates, cups, cutlery etc. Aft of the galley is a full length quarter birth. The upholstery is pale blue, in good condition and was professionally cleaned 2 years ago and has been little used since. The interior has 12v electric lighting throughout.
All in all she is a solid safe yacht that is easy to handle, with a good turn of speed that will look after you if you get caught out in lumpy weather, she will be sold with all of the equipment you need to get her on the water and sailing. Link to more details http://www.mikelucasyachting.co.uk/sadler-starlight-boats/sadler-25/sadler-25-brochure.php The photo's on this link are of this yacht with the old engine. I have sailed her single handed, as a couple and with 2 friends on a 'boys weekend away'. She always feels solid and safe and inspires confidence, all of the deck hardware (Winches, cleats etc.) are in good working order. I value my 100% feedback, I have tried to give a realistic description of the yacht, for more information or to arrange a viewing message me through classifieds board and I will call you back.
Payment - At the end of the auction the winning bidder will pay a 10% deposit via paypal with balance payable by cash or cleared bank transfer before the yacht is released. On 20-Mar-17 at 09:24:16 GMT, seller added the following information: I have checked the original paperwork and found that the yacht is a 1980/81 model but was actually made by Sadler Yachts as the Southampton Boat Show boat in 1979 and was sold to the first owner to be launched the following year. I will be at the boatyard on Saturday, if you want to view her before the auction ends please message me.
