Sailfish 18 Trailer Sailer Yacht, With Braked Trailer And Outboard Motor

Unfortunately time to sell my much loved Sailfish 18, as a house move (project) requires my attention. She is a true trailer sailer, and will launch without getting the back of the car wet. Not like many so called 'trailers' that need a huge 4x4 to tow and a crane to launch. (Apparently could be towed behind a '70s Mini !) Sail number 225, my sailfish was built by Maxim Marine (Southampton) around 1973. She is in good all round condition for the year, having been extensively given a new lease of life before I purchased her 4 years ago.

(Along with new cushions throughout). The ultimate 'Creek Crawler' the Sailfish is easy to rig and launch single handed. (Aided by trail/launch pintle attachment - see photos ). She draws less than a foot with the keel up, and has spent many a night pulled up outside the pub, providing a ready B&B at closing time! Easy to trail, I spent a week one summer with my lad exploring the Pembroke area creeks and bays.

She has also been great around the solent or in the confines of Chichester harbour if the wind picks up excessively. She comes complete and ready to go. Not only a fully braked trailer (alone worth nearly a thousand pounds) but a little used Tohatsu 3.5hp 2-Stroke outboard, and all the kit and safety gear so that she can be launched and cruised immediately.
