1980 Thames Marine Snapdragon 747 (24'6") Hi there, This is my Snapdragon 747 by Thames Marine (twenty four foot six inches), I have owned her for just over three years keeping her at the marina in Tollesbury, The boat is in seaworthy condition and she has had a coat of anti foul and is ready to go back in the water, The boat sleeps five in a double and three singles, it is equipped with an oven with grill and two burners, a sink with pumped filtered water and seating around the table for five, There is a seperate toilet cubicle which is equipped with a flushing sea toilet which has been upgraded to the latest version (non leaking!), there is also a handbasin in the toilet, The engine is a Yanmar 1gm10 which was fitted new in 2002 but could have been fitted yesterday, it is probably the boats best feature so I'll just let the photographs tell the story, Needless to say it all runs as it should and has never let me down, It is powerered by two large leisure batteries and two 50 watt solar panels so should be able to handle all that you can throw at it. It did have a wind generator but it is no longer there as I could not get the blades to balance, It has a sea radio, it works but I was too lazy to learn how to use it, it also has a car cd player with mp3, it does not like the damp but it plays mp3, It also has shore power leads and the gas comes from two gas bottles sited behind the rudder. It is fitted with a compass and has a tiller pilot all wired in so its easy to use, it has a wind direction meter and depth meter but I preferred to use a £27 app on my phone, it worked fine for me. The boat also has an anchor on 30 meters of chain, a full set of buoys, various boat hooks, a swim / boarding ladder, various ropes and tackle. It has two sets of sails, the originals from 1980 and a set from I believe 1998, I only ever used the set from 1980 because it had the sail number and snapdragon logo on it and these were top quality when new, I believe the newer sails are even better quality, She was surveyed in 2015, no serious problems were found other than bulbs out and the like, She also has a large powered cold box.
Headroom, there is about 5'6" headroom along the length of the boat, However it has been fitted with a false ceiling which looks very nice and gives the cabin a cosy feel but it lowers the ceiling. Remove it and headroom is about 5'10". The boat also comes with an untested 8 man liferaft, two nearly new adult size self inflating life jackets and six new childrens life jackets. The boat is in Tollesbury in Essex not far from Colchester. I can email a copy of the 2014 survey to anyone that might be interested, Genuine sale by reputable seller, The Snapdragon is a second to none sea boat, It has a fully encapsulated hull that keeps you safe, it is very forgiving even for the beginner and its lay out is just right so everything is where you expect to find it.
As a novice boat owner I would recommend the snapdragon. Offered here for a starting bid of £2000 no reserve. Thank you.
