Sailing Yacht Boat Jaguar 22 (With Trailer, Dinghy, And Outboard)

Jaguar 22 Our lovely Jaguar was delivered to its first owner in June 1979, since then it has been cared for by its subsequent owners. Jaguar 22 have been built under the names Alacrity 22(UK) Catalina 22(US) and Boomaroo 22(Aus) First produced in 1969, it is one of the longest continuously produced sailboats in the world. The sailing characteristics are delightful. Honey has a swinging keel which takes the draft from 5ft when down to 2ft when up, it is lowered and raised by a winch in the companionway. The winch has been recently serviced and the wire replaced the auto clutch mechanism work as it should.

The keel pivot pin and hangers have also been replaced and should give many more years of use. Moving forward in the cabin beneath the GRP roof, there is a dinette that converts to a double berth to port and long settee to starboard all with storage under. Further forward there is a v berth with space for a porta-potti beneath and an access hatch above. Under the roomy cockpit storage is plentiful and accessed from inside by sliding out a wooden base on the starboard side. Cockpit access is via the hinged seat bases.

Honey is powered by good sails the furling jib had seen very little use and still very crisp (a great shape too) The mainsail is older but sets well and still very serviceable. She has a 2016 longshaft 6hp Yamaha on a transom bracket which has very few hours use and is operated by remote gear and throttle operation from within the cockpit, this negates the need to operate by hanging over the transom, and is much more convenient and dignified. On deck, the standing and running rigging is in great shape with the jib sheets returning to recently serviced Barton winches, all rigging being main maintained and replaced when required. The guide wires are taught and fixed by secure stanchions, which support the fenders. Stainless pushpits and pulpit secure the man overboard recovery sling and horseshoe life buoy.In the cockpit there is a mounted depth sounder on the portside bulkhead.

When out of the water there is a galvanised factory supplied trailer in a good condition (although the tyres need replacing) there is also a fibreglass tender. The hull was cleaned, scrubbed and anti-fouled in August 2017 This whole package is in great shape and waiting for the weather to brighten and the sailing adventures to begin. The boat (with motor), trailer, dinghy, sails, fenders and safety equipment are offered.
