Engine Make: Volvo Penta
Here for auction is my Samson C-Bird 37ft Yacht.I purchased her MYSELF only recently, with the intention of getting her in the water next spring and taking her along the South coast from Southampton to to my mooring in Cornwall. And then I discovered that I can't keep a boat this big ON my current mooring. Yes, I know, I should have checked that first but there ya go. Plonker. And I'm sticking with my 26' Maccy for now. So let's get on to the details of THIS boat.37' loa, 11.5' beam, 6' draft. The mast measures in at 41'Fuel tank capacity 100 gallons / 378 litresWater tank 80 gallons / 303 litres I have done an extensive survey of the exterior and here are my findings:Hull: ROCK solid, no bulges.(My intention was to epoxy / coppercoat.
Although you could of course just bang some antifoul on.)Wooden cabin structure: SOLID. Literally needs a good clean, some prep and some paint.Mast / Rig: All SOUND. The mast DOES need some cleaning, sanding and paint. (Or Woodskin was my plan.) Halyards are there for main and foresail. My plan was to tune the stays/shrouds and bang the sails on in the spring, then go up the mast over next summer to sort the re-finish.You will notice in the pics that the safety 'rail' is missing. The previous owner removed the stantions, with the intention to change things around a bit.
They are all aboard. (My plan was just to bolt them all back on!) The pushpit and pulpit are in good order, they need some screws putting back in. As you can see from the pics, the internals are spacious, and something of a blank canvas. There are currently two bunks with cushions on them and useable. The internal fresh water system is in working order, with taps in the heads and galley. (80 gallon tank.)The Jabsco loo isn't very old.The portside bunk in the main cabin was removed by the previous owner with intention to re-imagine the layout. MAINLY unless you are planning on turning her into a luxury yacht, she just needs a lot of cleaning and a lick of paint.
Equipment:NASA Marine depth sounderGarmin GPSAIS Radar. (The display is there, but I'm not guaranteeing the radar unit itself is having not thoroughly searched all the lockers.)Target NavtexSilva VHF.All of the above look in great condition btw.The nav lights and GPS antenna have been taken off the push/pullpits btw, but ARE present and still wired in. The previous owner took her out of the water five years ago due to engine trouble.Which brings me ONTO the engine. Four cylinder Volvo Penta. It was head gasket failure. The head was removed, and then his mechanic let him down and that's the way it stayed!
Head is aboard.Being no mechanic, I planned to put two 25hp two stroke outboards on the back for the delivery trip, and have my engineer have a look at the big lump back in Cornwall. The reason I say two stroke is because they are lighter and I believe it possible to mount two long shaft motors onto the transom as she is without having outboard brackets mounted. The mainsail is aboard and in good condition. I THINK I can get hold of a good sized foresail, but I'm NOT including it in the sale just incase I can't. I will endeavour to sort it for the auction winner.Consider it a bonus if I can do that. Other things to note: The Rudder was replaced five years ago and is obviously in EXCELLENT condition.Hull annodes new too. If you want to get this boat in the water before the winter, it is do-able.If you have somewhere to take her.
She can stay where she is as long as you like. She's at Bucklers hard in Brockenhurst. You are welcome to go and view her exterior if you want to check her out before bidding. And please note: you are bidding to BUY. Not to win the auction and THEN look at her.Payment in full via bank transfer within 24 hours of auction completion. If you have feedback of less than 20, contact me BEFORE bidding or your bid will be removed.Selling with no reserve. I have masses of paperwork for her, including previous Survey, original blueprints, and manuals for equipment. We can do the handover at my home in the West Midlands if that suits you and I can give you all the paperwork then. Or I will post to you along with receipt and the keys.(You do get the ladder too btw heheh!) Storage is paid until the end of the month btw.Any additional information required, call me on: phone(No daft offers please.
She's going to be a bargain anyway no doubt.)If I don't answer, leave a message and I'll get back to you asap.Matt.
