Scout Abaco 245 Sportfisher/cruiser + Evinrude 300 Hp Etec - Low Towing Weight

Highly regarded US made sportfisher cabin cruiser, similar to Boston Whaler Conquest, built in 2010 and fitted with new Evinrude ETEC 300 in 2014. Very little use, engine always winterised when left for extended periods. Makes an ideal fast fishing boat, family dayboat or a cruiser for a couple, with the economy and simplicity of an outboard engine that can be lifted clear of the water and only needs servicing every 3 years. Despite being 24 feet long with great seakeeping, the whole rig including trailer weighs only 2,400 kgs so can be towed behind many family SUV's such as BMW X5, Volvo XC90 etc. A high spec aluminium trailer is included, but it is US spec so not UK road legal, conversion will cost £1,000.

It is fitted with Lowrance chartplotter and radar, VHF radio, and echosounder. In the cabin is a TV and car stereo. There is a pump out sea toilet. The locker cover from the cabin doubles up as a large picnic table in the cockpit for dining. An extended bimini sun shade and bow sunbathing cushions are included, as are full weather covers for the helm.

At the bow there is an automatic windlass (anchor) controlled from the helm, and at the stern is a telescopic stainless steel swim ladder. There is a shorepower connection for battery charging, and a solar panel on the roof to keep the batteries topped up. The steering is sea star hydraulic, much smoother and less problematic than cable. The deck is laid in Flexiteak. There is loads of storage on deck and in the cabin.

The hull has been coppercoated, so it can be left in the water for extended periods without fouling At fast cruising speed economy is about 3mpg. The fuel tank is 400 litres, giving a range of over 250 miles. It is currently moored on the river in Lymington, Hampshire
