For sale as pictured is our Sealine 220 motor cruiser. Specs and details as follows; She was built by renowned UK boat builders Sealine in 1992. This was in a time when such UK built boats were hand laid and finished by craftsmen. Not by means of a production line and mass produced, more commonly seen these days and in particular with similar sized American made boats, with which this should not be compared with. The finish and quality on show is a testament to this.
She is fitted with the upgraded Volvo Penta AQ 431/205A Quad inlet Carb 205hp 4.3 litre V6 engine. Almost the power of the V8, but only 2/3 the weight. This is coupled to the smooth shifting VP 290 Duo Prop drive. The engine runs faultlessly and sounds lovely at any rpm in the range. This combination means the boat is capable of pottering along at a little above tick over at around 6 or 7 knts in full displacement mode, or she will quickly and powerfully lift onto the plane with little effort and cruise at around half throttle at 20+ knots.
It’s also worth mentioning that should you feel the need, she will open up and run around 36 knots trimmed up. This is as quick as most speed boats. A fine testament to the engine and its condition, since this was the speed quoted by Sealine on official testing when new. More than capable of towing a skier, wakeboarder or tuber…if that’s your thing ! She really is a good all rounder in terms of ability, depending on the mood.
In terms of accommodation, she really has a big boat feel and packs a lot into her OAL of 23ft. One of the reasons we bought her years ago is because she ticked all the boxes we had to fill. I am not aware of any other boats of this size that has the following specs; 4+2 berths (4 fixed berths in cabin with V at the bow and a double under the rear section and a converting double rear sun lounger in cockpit)Full galley to include gas burners, 12v/240v fridge and stainless sink/drainer with hot and cold running waterFixed and separate heads with proper sea toilet, sink and full size shower…both again with H+C running water.Full Shore power 240v system and ancillaries. To include master switch panel for Battery charger, water pump, hot water immersion heater (also can be powered by engine), engine space heater, fridge and all round 240v house style sockets.Full 12v similar master panel with battery charge and display unit. This also switches for Fridge, internal, engine bay and cockpit lights amongst other ancillaries. She also boasts a marvellous Eberspacher D2 diesel fired central heating system with digitally controlled thermostat remote unit.
This is a god send on the cold nights we often get here in Scotland and makes all year boating possible. This was fitted at great expense and really enhances the boats usability. Try finding all of the above in another 23ft boat ! In addition to this, as you can see she has been extensively modernised and kept up to date. This year alone she has been professionally machine polished, has had a new set or duoprops, a dragonfly 4 chart plotter with sonar and downvision, re-carpeted and partly reupholstered.
The cockpit furnishings were custom designed and fabricated using templates and design taken from the more recent Sealine’s on sale today. The full canopy hoods are also just as recent and have been custom designed (much to the annoyance and patience testing of the sail maker) to provide different options in their set up, depending on the weather. The interior of the boat is largely untouched and shows the original furnishings. Another testament to the condition and care taken over the years. I like the fact she is original in the cabin and doesn’t look dated at all in my opinion, instead only shows the craftsmanship and finish this boat was afforded when new. All in all, she is a lovely boat and has had thousands spent on her over the years and in particular, more recently. She has been maintained as per the VP service schedule ( in my ownership) by a MCA coded and qualified specialist Marine Engineer.
Previous to this by VP. The aforementioned is very apparent the moment you step onboard, turn the key and listen to the sound of the engine ticking over at idle. She is currently sitting on Loch Lomond and any serious buyer with the money in hand can get take her out to sail. Although these boats are rare to the market, there is another for sale in the U.K. At £15000 and is not in comparable condition in my opinion She currently sits on an immaculate sbs 3500r4 road trailer that may be available by separate negotiation.
