1972 Seamaster 23' Sailor with 8.25' beam. The full spec can be found here https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/seamaster-sailer-23. This one is number 286 from the Laurent Giles designed mould. 2'6" draft with lifting keel fully retracted. Stated as a 5 berth, it would be a bit cosy but sleeps 4 reasonably comfortably with a double in the main cabin and twin V berths at the bow.
Moored in Maidenhead Berkshire on the River Thames and has been owned by the same experienced owner since 2010. Ready for summer use! Please note as I have converted the yacht to be used on inland waters only there is no mast/boom or sails available with this boat, and the single cylinder BUKH 10HP inboard diesel engine has deliberately not been started or run for at least 10 years, but could be recommissioned. However the boat is propelled by Mariner 15HP 2 stroke outboard engine, operated by Morse control, and is much cleaner and quieter for day cruising on the river. Has boat safety certificate until December 22 2022.
There is a good inventory of fixtures and fittings, boat hook, life ring, overboard ladder etc, spare parts and boat bits and pieces etc. Tiller steered, Plastimo gas cooker with flame failure device (cuts off gas supply if the flame blows out) 240v electrical hook up, domestic battery, GPS, depth meter, nav lights. The high grade stainless steel framed canopy is only a few years old and cost over £1200, I recently replaced all the rubbing timbers with D band fendering at the cost of £450, the outboard engine, portable Yamaha 10lt petrol tank and Morse control is worth around £600 alone. Even the BUKH inboard engine is worth around £1000 for parts. So there is a lot of boat for not much money!
Raymarine VHF radio seen in pictures is not included. Lovely boat, very easy to navigate/manoeuvre but declining lack of use over the past few years with a grown up family, for us means, it's time she went to a new owner. Serious enquiries only please, all reasonable near offers will be considered. Current mooring available by separate negotiation with the landowner, if you want the boat transported by road to another waterway I can help put you in touch with a local marina for the lift and a local boat transport specialist for the transport.
