Description:
From the pen of renowned designers, Holman & Pye, the Seamaster 815 is a solidly built in GRP with a nicely wooded interior, boasting standing headroom, separate heads and five adult sized berths in two cabins. More expensive when new than her closest competitor, Westerly Griffon, Carina is one of the last built, a fin-keeled example from 1981. We are the third owners in 2016 and cruised her on the south coast from Gosport to the Isles of Scilly. She has never been raced. Carina is forgiving to sail with slab reefing mainsail and furling jib/genoa on a simple masthead rig.Her original engine was replaced with a new Yanmar 1GM in 2003, fully serviced with a new head and stainless exhaust elbow in the past six months (with £1500 invoice), driving a three bladed prop via a shaft drive at a cruising speed of around 5 knots. She is easily manoeuvred under engine making straightforward docking or 'parking' in marina bays. She boasts a good galley with twin burner and grill (butane canister in cockpit locker) and pressurised cold water from a 50 litre flexible tank (new 2015). The main cabin also has a fold out chart table over quarter berth. Navigation equipment includes a Furuno GPS linked to icon DSC VHF radio. An Echopilot Log/Depth/GPS is fitted in the cockpit. The standing rig was new in 2011 (tuned again in 2016). The mainsail was new in 2013 and genoa refurbished at this time, both serviced by sailmaker in 2019. The mainsail cover is showing its age but the the sprayhood was serviced / reproofed in 2019. Carina is now in need of a good clean, above and below the waterline, with some gel chips and blemishes but she is utterly honest in that respect and her hull/deck layup is so solid that it is cosmetic only.Inventory includes: Deck Gear Bruce Anchor with 30m 8mm chain Danforth kedge with 20m (approx) warp Integral self-draining anchor locker Stainless steel Pushpit//Pulpit with Guardrails (2013) and Alloy Stanchions Plastimo 50l flexible water tank (2015) Gebo Forehatch (2013) 2 x Barlow genoa winches Warps and Fenders Cockpit spray dodgers with boat name (2011) Large cockpit locker Separate gas locker with drain overboard Accommodation Fabric cushions (2007) Saloon table drops to form infill for double berth V-berth forward Quarter berth Twin burner/grill Sink/drainer with pressurised cold water Ample stowage Hanging locker Separate heads compartment with Jabsco toilet (2013) Marelon plastic seacocks (2017) 12v main socket Navigation Icon DSC VHF radio (2013) Furono GP 32 GPS (2011) Echopilot combined Log/Depth/GPS Repeater (2011) Autohelm Autopilot Plastimo Contest Compas with 12v illumination (2013) Safety Manual bilge pump Three fire extinguishers Fire blanket First aid kit Horseless buoy, Floating light and Danbury (all 2013) Rescue Sling (2011) Mechanical Yanmar 1GM 9 Hp Diesel with 50l fixed fuel tank, all round access Delphi fuel filter Venus exhaust Stern gland (repacked 2017) with remote greaser in cockpit Cutless bearing (new 2017) 1 x 110 Ah house/service battery 1 x 85 Ah AGM engine battery (2019) Miscellaneous Avon Redcrest dinghy with pump and oars Please do ask any questions to cover anything I have forgotten to mention. I'm only selling due to my growing family. I'm using classifieds board to enable Carina to find her market value, too many older boats languish in brokerages at unrealistic prices. I am offering her with no reserve and short auction, so won't be entertaining any negotiation after the auction ends. Payment in full (by cash or bank transfer) within 5 days of the auction ending.Collection to be within 7 days or a mooring in sunny St Mawes could be negotiated if required for the season, a great holiday base for Cornwall. Thanks for reading this far...
