Welcome to my auction for my beloved 1964 Seamaster 25 foot livaboard boat. All pictures were taken between 21.05.22 – 22.05.22 so you can see exactly what you are bidding to buy.Recently passed boat safety scheme (BSS – like an MOT for a car check gas system is safe, lots of other safety checks etc) This is valid for four years so good until February 2026 will go straight back through built really well this boat. Not in any rush to sell; really enjoying my time cruising in the lovely weather & these boats are rare especially with the original features and in London too. Viewing highly recommended. She is currently on the brilliant London canal network.
Had many adventures in my 2+ years of ownership. Spent the bulk of my time with her in the central London canal network but have cruised out west this spring; around a two day cruise back into central London from where she is moored currently. In terms of mooring cost I have a CRT continual cruiser license which means I can moor anywhere on the London canal or river system for a little over £800 for the year. You need to move the boat every two weeks on this licence but can literally move 50 foot (Also they are not that hot on this). You will also need boat insurance which I pay £80 for the year and that’s it so for under £1k you can live in central London or just use as a pleasure cruiser which is what I have done.
Length: 7.6 M Beam: 2.8 M CRT Index No: 117883 Engine BMC 1.8 litre diesel inboard engine installed 9 years ago. These marinized BMC engines are also known as the Thornycroft 108. Internally and externally water cooled A127 type Prestolite 70 A Alternator New leisure battery with guarantee. Last year engine had an issue with overheating. Turned out to be head gasket and cylinder head fault.
I replaced the cylinder head with a tested reconditioned unit and put new head gasket set on. Also at the time replaced thermostat, radiator cap and cleaned intake manifold water pipes to improve cooling system. Topped up oil etc so she will be a reliable boat for the new owner no issues since repair. Construction She has a well looked after beautiful vintage hull still with original features. These older boats were built so robustly with an excessive thickness of GRP as it was during a time they had not worked out the minimum thickness which is used nowadays.
The whole inside has been lined with polyurethane kingspan which keeps her cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Facilities 2 Kilowatt beautiful little wendy wood burner. 12 V sockets and 240 V sockets for shore or generator hook up. 120 litre water tank running cold water. Hot pipes ready to be fitted to a hot water tank be a great addition to have and will not cost much or require much work to fit by a professional.
Elsan toilet Gas oven with grill and two ring hob all working perfectly. LED lights inside and out. Accommodation Sleeps 3 the bow converts into a double bed with a triangle insert or can use as two singles. The table converts into a short small double also. All seat covers have been re-trimmed in blue with white piping recently costing £1k.
Freshly stained wood inside and paint done in the last few weeks so fresh. Insulated with kingspan The roof has been lined with tongue and groove which has been stained and oiled to maintain a warm look. Does require some attention its all intact but in places has dropped a little needs screwing back up to get it looking 100% again. New roller blind over the kitchen and new curtains for remaining windows. New good quality lino in the kitchen and bathroom.
Small set of drawers previous owner had a fridge in this space but I removed. Ample storage space under seats. Finally, a huge outside deck plenty big enough for entertaining or a nice glass of wine whilst people watching. With storage and gas bottle under seating. I have freshly painted and stained the wood in the last two weeks.
Covered by a thick robust blue canopy that folds down as seen in the pictures. The canopy is a little worn and tatty however will last a few more years but would benefit from a new canopy. Outside She is a lovely looking boat get regular compliments. I painted the outside of the boat two years ago but after two winters she is starting to get to the point where she needs another coat of paint I would say but good as is. From a distance she looks brilliant still but up close quite a lot of paint flaking and cracks I want to be as honest as possible so you know exactly what you are getting.
As above viewing highly recommended. Any silly questions or low ball offers will be ignored I’m a busy man. Thanks for looking & good luck with the bidding.
