Here up for sale is my Sea Ray 268. Cosmetically, on the outside it could do with a little t.l.c such as a machine polish on the red banding. This has never bothered me but just wanted to mention it. The upholstery is a bit worn but still fresh and plenty of life in it. It's a 1988 model and it has a 7.4 V8 petrol Mercruiser engine paired with an Alpha One outdrive which as standard has heavy gearing compared to a modern day alpha, with power trim.
Boat is located on the Great Ouse in Bedfordshire. It was out of the water last year in the cold weather for maintenance and I stayed aboard most nights during the week with just a 1kw oil radiator and a dehumidifier. It was cozy enough, even in them freezing cold nights. Unlike most sports cruisers this length (26 ft 8 inch) , the Sea Ray 268 has a very clever lay out inside, with multiple options and lots of storage space. For instance you have a bedroom under the cockpit, a large bed in the bow which can also convert to seats, and then you still have a dining area and cooking/sink area.
Just google 'Sea Ray 268' and you will find lots of pictures showing the layout on these American sports cruisers. These are classed as a 6 berth, as the dining area converts into a small double bed also. The large cockpit area can seat 2 or 3 people at the helm, another 2 people behind and there is still plenty of space for storage etc. During maintenance the boat has had a new impeller in the outdrive, new trim cylinders and hoses, antifoul, starter motor, 2 x batteries, etc. In November 2015 a whole new canopy and frame was fitted.
Its got detachable blinds inside for privacy and it has a number of options. The boat has had a new boat safety certificate done in May 2016 so it's got more than 3 years remaining. The boat does not have gas at all. A microwave and camping stove does the job for me. It has a sea toilet which pumps to a holding tank (recent new carbon breather fitted), has a shower, hot water immersion tank which is heated by either 240 hook up or engine heat.
It has a pretty new fridge with ice compartment, the fridge keeps your food/beer very cold. Also has gps depth sounder/feature finder, NASA battery monitors (good piece of kit), built in stereo, 240 outlets, consumer board etc. The boat runs lovely, and is ready to go. The engine has a lot of power and is reliable. Feel free to ask any questions.
Need a sale soon hence bargain price. I know this boat is easily worth 12.5k . More pictures available on request.
