Engine Make: Suzuki
A Simpson-Wild design “Shangaan” built in 1969 at Swanage. “Sunny” is a two berth 24ft length 16ft wide Trimaran constructed of Wood & Epoxy fibreglass sheath. “Sunny” resides at Hoo Ness Yacht Club, Vicarage Lane, Rochester ME3 9LB and is currently on hardstanding awaiting launch date. For reference, “Sunny” is currently insured with Basic Boat Liability Insurance (other providers can be found). I am looking to sell “Sunny” due to a change in my personal circumstances, which includes time available and family.
Features: - Reliable Suzuki 5hp Outboard (lever from cockpit to engage neutral/forward/reverse) - Facnor LS70 furling system- Lewmar Traveler track- Lewmar 7 winches and handle (N.B. I am replacing one winch mount support at present as part of general maintenance)- Electric Windlass in cockpit (currently not used, but connected)- Main sail (would benefit from cleaning + bag) and fore sail (recent UV strip replacement) - Stowe Nav Sounder - Stowe Navigator 2- Wind Monitor (N.B. Wind speed in working order however wind direction does not appear to be)- Compass- Daggerboards, lines leading to/from cockpit- 5kg claw anchor- Victron Marine 50W Solar panel & Solsum 5.0x charge controller. Cabin uses 12V sockets.- Digital VHF antenna (not used or tested, as I use a handheld VHF) - Mast lights (not in use/working – previous owner installed LED tri-colour on bow and LED on stern ensign in addition to independent white LED light when motoring or at anchor – seems to work perfectly well) - Rudder- Fenders, mooring lines, boat hook- Drogue- Porte Potti 345- Paint system – repainted in 2019 using International Yacht Paint undercoat and topcoat finishes. As part of the annual maintenance, I am touching up decks (with Interdeck) and inner starboard float (Toplac).
Included with “Sunny” will be several cans of paint to assist with on-going maintenance, including anti-foul. Please note that “Sunny” was recently moved in the yard to enable another boat to launch. During the process (I was not present) an axel on Sunny’s launch trailer was broken. This will need to be addressed prior to launch and I have been advised that re-welding will be required (happy to discuss). N.B. Sunny's launch trailer is not road legal.
On purchasing “Sunny”, we will need to provide Hoo Ness Yacht Club (HNYC) with your contact details for billing purposes of any future storage costs (£37/month). If you wish to keep Sunny at HNYC, you will need to apply for membership. If moving Sunny, the shore master would be grateful for an indication of timescale required. Should you have any questions, please get in touch.
