Condition Description: 
Our much-loved yacht has been well-cared for throughout her illustrious career. The hull is clean and tidy. We annually remove antifoul and prep hull and fins before antifouling her. Spars have been well-maintained and regularly checked for wear and tear. Dacron main and jibs 1 and 2 are one season old - crisp and in excellent condition. A second laminate main is older but in working condition. There are two spinnakers (1x large and 1 x medium sized) in good condition. Also included is a Code Zero that has had little from us but is in good condition. She comes with a double axle 4-wheel unbraked trailer with modified cradle, plus all lines, sheets and ropes in very good condition.
Description: 

Reasons to be Cheerful is a Smokey 25 designed by Stephen Jones and built in 1981 to be competitive under the rule rating. Since then, she has been modernized and updated to be highly competitive under the IRC rating system. She now has an IRC handicap rating of 0.831. For the past five years RTBC has been sailing successfully in local competitions throughout the season in and around Cowes, in the Central Solent. In 2022, she won the highly competitive Island Sailing Club evening series and was 2nd mini-tonner yacht in converted the Round-the-Island (and 93rd out of 1,140 overall).
She is currently ashore on her unbraked road trailer in East Cowes, Isle of Wight having been lifted, scrubbed and prepped for another season. This is a great racing boat for inshore waters. She can be crewed easily by three people. She takes heavy weather really well but is still competitive in light air.
