Relisted due to non-paying bidder and timewaster ‘treecutter32’. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE only bid on this boat if you are going to collect and pay for it within 7 days of the auction end! The excuse for not going through with the sale from ‘treecutter32’ – the missus is going mental! Shame buddy, but really not my problem - you are bidding to buy! Rant over folks.
This auction is for a Phantom 16 speedboat, Mercury 60hp outboard and road trailer. I have owned the boat with a friend for approximately 8 years. It has given us hours of trouble free fun wake boarding, towing a ringo and fishing etc. The only reason for the sale is that we have bought a slightly bigger speedboat. The boat was last used on the water just a couple of months ago, and ran great like it always does.
Today (8/9/18) I ran the engine on muffs to demonstrate that it starts on the turn of the key & pumps water (see pic of engine). I took a video that I can send to any perspective buyer. Hull – Phantom 16 (16ft long) in white / black below the water line. The boat has seats up front and a bench to the rear. These are covered in black vinyl which is in reasonable repair (cushions always removed from the boat when not in use).
The speedo and rev counter worked when the boat was last on the water. A new helm (steering) unit has been fitted during our ownership. Ladder to left of engine. The hull has obviously been sprayed at some point (prior to our ownership), and as is often the case with boats, ‘Seaduction’ looks better in photos that she does up close – please bear this in mind. There are various blemishes to the hull & paintwork.
That said, ‘Seaduction’ still looks nice and sharp on the water. Engine – Mercury 60hp mid to late 1980s pre mix 2 stroke outboard. Electric start via Quicksilver remotes with key push choke & fast idle. Power trim, kill cord compatible. Engine runs great and has never let us down.
It pushes ‘Seaduction’ along at a max of approx. 35mph. Engine weather cover included in the sale as is a kill cord. Engine always flushed with fresh water after use. Trailer – New indespension units, hubs and bearings fitted last season. Doesn’t look that pretty but towed fine when last used.
New winch strap last season. Known issues: - The switch for the power trim only works one way, so you have to swap over the connectors at the remotes depending if you want to move the engine up or down. I can demonstrate this to anyone who wants to look at the boat, takes 2 seconds. - As I’ve mentioned above, the hull looks better in the pics than it does close up – there are various marks and blemishes around the boat. The rubber strip around the upper section of the boat is damaged in a few places and there is a section of the metal strip that holds it in place missing (front left).
Please don't expect a new boat. - We only tow the boat a mile or so each way to the slipway, so I can’t give any guarantees how it will tow long distance. The trailer is rusty and the wheel guards are in poor repair etc. I have tried to be as honest as possible in this listing to avoid any wasted time – please remember that you are bidding to buy. The pictures of the boat on the water were taken earlier this year and the ones on dry land were taken today (8/9/18).
You are welcome to view the boat in Appledore, North Devon (EX39) prior to the auction end. Please call me on phone to arrange this or if you would like any further info. Once the auction has ended, the boat must be paid for and collected within 7 days. Thanks for looking.
