Chaparral 246 The boat was delivered on the 1st April 2015. It has not spent either the 2015/16 or 2016/17 winter in the water. It only has around 45 hours of usage of which a significant portion of that was just running the engine on the berth to lubricate everything. At the end of January 2017 the anti-foul and anodes were replaced and she has not been back in the water since then. The carpets and toilet have never been used and are brand new.
You can see from the photos that she has been looked after so much so that she looks and feels brand new even to us. The sale is reluctant but the right thing for us to do as we just do not get time to use her. She is a very fast boat. With two on board, calm sea and a fresh jetwash of the hull we have had her at just over 50 mph. We paid £55,000 for her in 2015 from the Southampton boat show which means we had a very good deal.
He specs make her very good value for money even when we bought her. The sound system has control panels in three places including the cockpit and the stern. There are the normal safety features such as the lanyard engine cut-off but also a very nice LED lighting system so skiers or swimmers can see if the propeller is turning or stationary. There is an electric pump shower for washing off on the swim platform and a small sink in the toilet compartment. Which can also be used to take fresh water for drinking on your outings.
There is also a table which can be seen from the photos in its storage position. This table has got two locations it can be used. Rear sitting area and bow area. There is also a bow filler upholstered section to make the whole of the bow into a sunbathing area. The boat comes with the ropes, anchor, chain and rope and all the buoys and ropes.
We have had several sports boats over the years and this one is by far the best design. There is so much storage and space. We have regularly been out on day trips with 11 adults and children (11 is the max allowed) although for wake boarding and rubber rings etc we have always had smaller numbers. Not because she hasn't got the power to pull or plain because she definitely has. Its just safer.
She will pull a wake boarder out with ease and plain in an instant making the pull out much more calm and stable which in turn makes learning much easier for the skier/boarder to learn. Don't be put off by a 5.7 litre engine. Fuel consumption is good and actually we have found that on a family day trip and picnic a 25 mile meander across to a very nice cove and back hardly uses any fuel at all.
