Edna May the vessel is registered as, I bought her in 2014 and as soon as I got her I spent over £2500 getting it all painted, engine serviced of which I have all of the receipts for. As you can see from the pictures she was out of the water getting her hull blackened and also new magnesium anodes fitted to the front at rear, repairs to the fuel piping, new stop cable amongst other smaller repairs which are listed in the invoice. The engine starts first time every time and you are more than welcome to come and view her, the service was carried out by M&L Marine from Nantwich, the only thing he couldn't sign off was the gas tubing from the canister to the oven/hob so this will need reconnecting as he cut it to ensure we got the certificate etc. I have had new battery fitted also and they were not the cheap ones either, I would however recommend and interim service on the engine before it goes out again. She has the BSC until I think its July 2018 but will confirm, it is currently moored in Croughton on the Shropshire Union Canal (Dee Branch) about 5 minute drive from Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port, the current mooring fees are £600 per year inclusive of everything and this is payable in two amounts £300 in September and £300 at the end of March. It is ideally located approx. 1 hour cruise into Chester (Telfords Warehouse) and then another 40 mins into the heart of Chester.
The other way will take you into the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum where its free to enter if you arrive by boat.Inside the boat she is open plan and benefits from a multi burning stove in which you can cook on and boil the kettle etc. There is a small toilet area with fold down sink, the toilet however was a little old and minging so I've tipped it, you can get different ones for around £40-£60. Some pointers to bear in mind if you are seriously thinking of bidding:As you can see from the pictures the paint has flaked quite a lot compared to when she was completed, sadly this was my fault for pure and simple lack of use and commitment. The windows appear to be watertight however they do look a little unsightly so perhaps filling and painting would be better or replacement, the glass is in good condition. The original hull sits inside another external skin which gives it extra insulation in the winter as its all been polystyrene lined inside, someone has spent a fortune on this before me.The side dinette for some reason only has one side with a seat on, easy to put another one on the other side I've just never got around to it.The upholstery could do with recovering. There are low voltage plug sockets that run off the batteries and although the switch board is a little old everything seems to work ok, there are a few light bulbs out again easy fix but I've just never gotten round to doing it.She has a manual bilge pump rather than an internal auto one, all this means is that if any rain water gets into the engine bay it will need pumping out, I use a Whale manual pump which works fine. If you keep all the stern grease tubes taught and the cover over the stern house then you will have very little water ingress. This is a lot more than a working project and is fully useable if you're happy to set sail with the above pointers. As mentioned the gas tubing will need to be reconnected to the gas cylinder.Currently the 3rd party insurance is £9.71 per month. It has all fees paid up however its now like the car tax where I will get the refund and you will start a fresh if that makes sense, I cannot pass over etc.
I've been very honest in the condition of the boat so please do not expect a showroom condition piece, hence the reason for setting the bidding off at £2500 with no reserve and no buy it now. You will not get a Springer for this kind of money anywhere else in the UK. Payment preferred is either C.O.D, Paypal or via BACS Instant transfer and as mentioned all viewing is welcome, grab a bargain and start the bidding. Thanks for looking On 09-Mar-17 at 11:22:17 GMT, seller added the following information: Had a couple of questions re the engine: Its a SABB (Not SAAB) Diesel Engine very straight forward and bullet proof, easy to maintain and service etc.
