Stuart Stevens SS190 Offshort Cabin Cruiser Or Fishing Boat - Easy Project

A Stuart Stevens SS190 produced in the mid to late 70s as an off shore fishing or inland 2 berth cruiser. This is a fairly straight forward project. These boats were highly regarded for their seaworthy hull. It has the same hull as the Loftus Bennett 19 but with a more up to date superstructure. This boat is basically sound but needs the following:Gunwale fenderingHatch and strengthening to cabin roof.The glass is broken in one side of the windscreen.The inboard engine has been removed and the steering cable will need replacing to fit the extra length of the outboard bracket.It needs a general tidy up.

It comes with a canvas canopy which is generally quite sound but there is a small tear about 2ins square which need a patch and a little bit of stitching is required. Most of the cushions are included - please see photos.The wooden steering console is not brilliant - a wooden steering wheel is included but not shown.The stainless steel fittings are good.The windows are made from aluminium/Perspex and are sound. This could be a really stylish boat again without too much effort. It has 2 stainless steel fuel tanks and trim-tabs which probably needs removing. The cockpit floor appears to be sound and the front berths and lockers are all in glass fibre.

The hull has been painted. The outboard bracket is of good quality and will probably take engines around 20hp when used on the river. The trailer, which is not included in the price, is quite old and scruffy. It has been extended but would be OK to tow a short distance. It is available by separate negotiation at a very reasonable price.
