Sunbird 21 Foot Sports Cuddy Boat Project With Omc Cobra 5.8 L V8 Stern Drive

The boat is a a 1989 Sunbird 218 which is 21 feet long and has a V8 Ford OMC Cobra engine. The internal woodwork in the hull was found to be rotting due to a small amount of damage to the gel coat below the waterline. Before this was discovered the boat was is in perfect working condition. It spent the first 12 Year’s of its life on the Thames but was hardly used. I bought it 2002 and it spent the first year on the Thames and then it spent a year at Poole harbour. It went in the sea 4 times. The rot in the underfloor wood was discovered the following year. It has sat on my drive since 2004. 99% of the hull wood has been removed. The engine is in fantastic condition as shown in the photos. The stern drive leg is in perfect working condition but will need repainting. The external gel coat is in pretty good condition, there are a couple of small areas that need repair but it mostly needs a good polish. The trailer has wheels and a draw bar I just need to fit them back on.
