Here we have my Swift 18 swing keel trailer sailing boat - selling due to relocation overseas. I have owned Sancho for 3 years and have sailed her extensively until this year. I have trailered a few times away from her base, which is Whitwell (Rutland Water) where she is currently stored. This is a great boat for family and single handed sailing - easily launched and sailed alone, great for building confidence of those new to sailing too - I have taken many sceptics aboard and had them sailing confidently after very little time at the helm. Pictures demonstrate what is for sale - minus humans - Swift 18 sail number 187 with Kemp sails in good shape as pictured - a roller furling genoa and a mail with 2 reef points.
Standing & running rigging are in good condition. The keel mechanism is smooth and works well, inside the roof lining has been replaced with a PVC lining and the walls carpeted - adding some wood or PVC strips to conceal the joins would finish the job. There is a forward v berth and two single benches in the orgininl red upholstery - no tears, and a few scatter cushions. The original water dispenser is present along with washing up bowl and mini table. There is a 2 burner gas stove.
There is a pair of lockers to the aft the have various mooring warps and fenders. You can see pictured that there is a canopy which is in great unfaded condition, as is the main sail cover. There is a set of dodgers too. I re-sealed the windows in 2016, and there is some excess sealant that I didn't remove at the time. The windows don't leak, but this will need tidying.
Trailer is braked and in very good condition, bearings greased last season and there is a spare wheel too. I have a wheel and hitch lock that can stay with the trailer. Sancho is sitting on her trailer with the mast in situ - should the new captain wish to keep her at Rutland, there would be a fee payable to the site, otherwise the mast will need to be lowered which is straightforward and there are several documented methods on the inter web. I've had great fun with Sancho and will be sad to set the mooring lines to slip for the last time. I don't currently have any pictures of the interior and don't plan on visiting the boat until this weekend.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. Payment in cash only, collection only on weekends.
