2002 Terhi 4100 fast fishing boat ‘The Whippet’ has been my pride and joy for the last 4 years and has never let me down. I have predominately use her for fishing, sight seeing, wake boarding and towing people on a ringo. In addition to the photos I have done a youtube video walk around showing as much as I could https://youtu.be/19_DwnuEhck The hull She is a 13.5ft fast fishing boat which is very easy to launch, helm and recover. The Finnish made Terhi boats are constructed from two separate ABS-plastic shells, which are vacuum formed under immensely high temperatures. The space in-between the two shells is then filled with a non-absorbent closed cell polyurethane foam.
This sandwich construction makes the Terhi boats not only unsinkable, but highly durable and remarkably safe to use. The ABS-plastic is extremely shock and weather proof, and thus perfect for boats. Here’s a video of when they cut one in half to prove their point. Https://youtu.be/ZtX2NVl8x_0 Launching This boat is extremely easy to launch, I always launched it single handed on my local slipway but have also launched her on the beach with a 4x4. The boat has a very small draft so can be pulled right up on to the slip or beach and can navigate the shallowest river-ways and ocean inlets.
The trailer is designed to auto align the boat whilst you winch her on. On the water The Whippet is a very fast and manoeuvrable boat due to its planing hull design and powerful engine (30hp is the max engine size for this hull). She is very comfortable with 3 adults and luggage but can easily cope with 4/5 adults depending on their weight. There is enough power to wake board, water ski and ringo, this is what I mainly used her for. Storage and seating There are 4 storage compartments on the boat which I show in the video.
There are two fuel tanks under the stern bench seat with room for more items around the tanks. The new battery is located under the helm along with a small tool kit. There is a large locker under the V seat in the bow along with the anchor locker. All seats have removable cushions which are original. At the stern there is a covered fish hold which drains out through the transom (no stinky fish gunk in the boat).
Engine The boat is fitted with a electric start 2001 Yamaha F30, 4 stroke engine with power tilt and trim. Since owing it I have changed the propeller and all external anodes (2018) and impeller and spark plugs (2019) along with changing the engine and gear oil, fuel filter, cylinder head anodes and oil filter every season. I also replaced the tilt and trim motor in 2018 as the old one was looking a little corroded. All control lines are covered in a protective rubber hosing that I have added this year and lead to a genuine Yamaha control unit at the helm. As you can probably tell by now, I tend to go a little overboard with things but when you are relying on equipment at sea you can never be to careful.
Trailer The boat sits on a Snipe T600p, roller and skid, galvanised trailer that has a capacity of 450kg. I have replaced the axels, hubs, wheels, mudguards and changed the bearings at the beginning of the season. The trailer comes with a removable light-board that sits neatly under the transom which means the engine can be ran through with the muffs without removing the light board (very handy). The boat is secured to the trailer with a strap across the stern and a safety strop that goes through the bow eye hitch which are both included in the sale. I've upgraded to a 1000LBS KB galvanised winch which is a little over kill but makes launching and recovery that much easier.
This new winch will drag the boat off dry sand on to the trailer no problem. The boat tows wonderfully and I hardly notice it behind my van. Due to the weight you do NOT need a trailer licence to tow her. The only thing I haven’t had time to do to this boat is strip the grey paint from the hand rails. They are stainless steel and will look amazing once done.
The boat comes with: A custom made waterproof cover which can be used whilst docked, at anchor or on the trailer. Grapnel Anchor with 8ft of chain and 50m of rope Wash through muffs Fluro Propeller bag for transport Wake Skate Wake rope and handle Ringo Knife Eagle fish finder and depth sounder VHF radio Spare rope. Please contact me on phone if you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing. I’m happy to do a sea trial depending on weather, tides and my availability. I have advertised this boat elsewhere so I reserve the right to remove at any point.
I hate to cliche but I’m sure that first to see will buy as this is a very well looked after and ready to go boat. Cash on collection.
