Thundercat Racing Rib Boat With Yamaha Engine And Combination Trailer

For sale is my Aquarius Thundercat, including Yamaha 50hp race spec engine and combination trailer and launch trolley. I bought the boat with the intention of racing but this never happened due to so many other hobbies and work commitments. The boat and engine are both 2006 and are in good condition. The white tubes have some light marking (as to be expected with age) but the photos do give a good representation of what is for sale. The yamaha engine is a race specification motor and features Boyesen uprated reed valves.

The engine bracketry has also been extensively strengthened when new. The engine has auto oil injection with a tank under the cowl. The engine is in good condition and runs perfectly. An RPM / Hour meter has been added to the tiller arm and will be included. The engine has an adjustable hydraulic steering damper, which was fully overhauled a year ago and works perfectly.

The prop is made by Powertech and is made of stainless steel and is in good undamaged condition. The trailer is to my own design and was manufactured by my own company (We produce bespoke metal fabrications). It comprises a launch trolley and a road trailer, both from galvanized steel. The launch trolley rides on plastic centred wheels, riding on stainless steel axles, which is unaffected by immersion in salt water. The trolley then piggy-backs the road trailer, which rides on conventional unbraked hubs with tapered roller bearings.

To recover the boat, the trolley can be manually pulled on to the road trailer by one person when on flat ground. When on a slope such as a steeper slipway, there is a hand winch, which again allows single handed recovery. I have a pair of As-New Grabner racing life jackets (type required to race in UK thundercat series) and also 3x helmets also lightly used and to race requirements. These will be available by separate negotiation. Boat is currently stored in Bromley in Kent.
