Trident 24 Sailing Yacht

1960 Trident 24 Sailing Yacht, 24ft by 7ft on a Snipe road trailer. Headroom 5ft 7inch and sleeps 4. Unfinished refurbishment project as I just don't have the time at the moment to finish putting it back together. This is Trident #4 East Wind and was one of the original boats with fibreglass hulls and wooden topsides. The hull was professionally altered to take a Vetus M205 Diesel Engine (11 hp) which has been fully refurbished and comes with the exhaust system and fuel tank.

(The original engine was a 7hp Vire petrol 2 stroke) A new engine bed was installed to fit the engine and comes with Vetus rubber engine mounts as well as a new stuffing box already fitted for the new prop shaft and matched propeller. The original Vetus control panel and Morse controls are included but these still need to be refurbished. Bad bit: - She has been gutted and needs putting back together. All wooden panels, doors and removed items are included. Full plans and drawings included as well as manuals.

The deck has been partially replaced but needs to be finished off after the engine and sundries are fitted. The deck is a standard epoxy over ply deck. The inside has already been fully painted with white bilge paint. Mast needs a good clean and refurbishment although the cross trees and top triangle have been replaced with new units. Comes with the original Galvanised Pulpit and stanchions which need cleaning up and painting Good Bit: - Boat comes with a Main sail and Genoa as well as a spinnaker.

These have been cleaned and fully refurbished by Jeckells (cost £350) so in as new condition. Mainsail is rigged for the roller reefing boom (with two handles supplied) and the Genoa is on a Sailspar headsail reefing unit. Drum has been refurbished complete with a new continuous reefing line. Spinnaker pole has also been refurbished and includes new ropes and lines. Standing rigging is nearly new.

Also, nearly new Main sheet and Genoa sheets. Tuffnal pulleys for main sheet with stainless track and stainless tracks for the jib sheets. New Tabernacle made for mast to allow easy lowering of the mast. Bronze deck fittings have all been polished and epoxy coated. New Iroko cockpit surrounds have been made ready for fitting with side supports for the two main Tufnell winches which have been completely overhauled as well as two additional spinnaker winches.

An additional Barlow wire winch is included for the swing keel. The original keel fitted on the boat is serviceable, but it also comes with a replacement steel swinging Rudder and new 1/2” thick steel swing keel (cost £600 to be manufactured) Full set (11) of new bunk/seat cushions included which were professionally made to fit the boat by Jeckells (cost £400) The odd bits: - Nearly new Neptune 2000 gas Cooker with spare gas bottles. Sink with manual water pump. Anchor with approximately 20m of chain Brand new 10ft wooden boathook with metal end and rope handle.Sail cover for boom. Various shackles, pulleys and ropes.

Starting auction at £500 so a bargain in the offing for someone, considering what has already been spent on it. THIS IS TO BE COLLECTED FROM GREAT YARMOUTH AREA IN NORFOLK – note the boat is about 2 ton in weight and sits on a Snipe Trailer rated at 2200Kgs so tow vehicle must be suitably rated for the weight.
